So now that we have dispensed with the amateurs, let's talk gin. For years I was partial to Boodles, but then switched to Hendricks. Lately though I have grown partial to Bombay Sapphire.

BTW, for the youngsters in the audience, a martini is supposed to taste good; you know, with a hint of berries. We're going back to the days when the sun never set on the empire. Hail Britannia! Now, if you will excuse me, I need to get back to reading Kipling.

Your gin choices indicate your amateur status. Pedestrian at best.

    Try Oxley and grow up..........

I once attended a gin-tasting and took a sip of over a dozen brands...I'm now a Tanqueray man.

I manned up and spent $50. It's good, but maybe I'm a slut, but I still like Sapphire. BTW, what vermouth do you use?

    There's Tanqueray.
    And then there's everything else.

In my opinion, Noilly Prat is the best dry vermouth for martini-making.

As long as it's a screaming cold martini, I like Tanqueray, Saffire, and even Beefeaters. All with Noilly Prat, though. And good olives.

    Leopolds.

Olives just take up valuable space.

I was at the Bathroom Gin Co. in Seattle when I discovered the best Gin I've tasted so far. It's a craft distillery but they make some of the best gin I've ever had. I'd highly recommend the Russell Henry Malaysian Lime - reviews | Craft Distillers

Hendricks, sometimes can be too sweet for me
The Botanist, is a great choice, floral smelling and tasting but not super smooth
Monkey 47, is more unique, has a smokey flavor to it that I like a lot as well
Tanqueray No. 10, was one of my original favorites

I'm partial to Old Raj, by Cadenheads. Like Hendricks and BSaph as well.

Take mine in G&T, though, as my martinis are mostly the vodka variety.

Where are you located, TF? Would love to drink one with you.
