Brawn spotted in Maranello
Could be meaningful or not. Ross was with a group of car enthusiast in the region. Might be harmless or not. Hope springs eternal.
Emotionally i hope he will be back... but i dont see the logic, unless they will give Brawn a percentage of team ownership / overall responsiblity... which I highly dobut. Regardles - I think it would be a HUGE move in the right direction. but dobut it will happen.
So now Leo Turrini says that Brawn was at Maranello when a few days ago he said that he wasn´t going to re-join Ferrari. Meh, journalists shouldn´t comment on rumours.
He was in the Emilia-Romagna area spending his fortune on the best food in the world..... Forbes: Emilia Romagna has the best cuisine in the world | Bologna Connect
Just for the record: Turrini was the one who broke the Domenicali resignation story. Give the guy some credit and respect
Ferrari is just luring Brawn back with promises of a Pininfarina designed fishing pond in the middle of Fiorano. I think Ross is still holding out until LDM guarantees a 059/3 MGU-H outboard powered Tracker Pro Guide. HA!
I can understand all the reasons why Brawn was in Maranello, to test drive new Ferraris, eat the best food in the world, and get his fishing pond. I can't believe the area has any good fishing (at least the River Secchia isn't known for its trout - to the best of my knowledge), and Brawn wouldn't pay a daily rate to catch a few trout!!!
I don't see how bringing a guy who constantly talks about retirement in to run a team is going to be all that great for the future. His reign at Mercedes didn't go all that well either. I have no idea who it is, but I think that Ferrari might be better off trying to find someone new and younger. Someone with fresh ideas. They should rebuild the team, not replace it with old and tired people.
Say what. Ross Brawn is why Mercedes are who they are right now. Ross Brawn was also highly instrumental in Ferrari's prior glory years. There is no dispute in either of these claims. Ross and Newey are without a doubt the most powerful people in F1 other than Bernie and Whiting of course
If you recall the TV feed in Bahrain where Luca was watching from the Ferrari garage and turned away in disgust, camera cut away but he was texting away to Brawn on his phone... "Plz come bak to Ferrari. We need u. How much $$$ do U want?"
Turrini himself, not me, is the one who is questioning his own stories of some time ago. And probably you know that he's not always right. Respect? Yes, why not, but "a bit" of skepticism is not out of place, IMO.
This has to be one of the most un informed comments I've read on this site. Brawn was they reason MB has their own team... and the staff it has. Lauda and Wolf are the reasons he's "retired" I'll take old and wise over young and stupid any day.
