I am clearing a shelf and have a few motoring/racing related books for sale in the classifieds: From whats left the Racing Helmets book and the Strictly off the record book would appeal to race fans Book 'Strictly off the record' - Louis T. Stanley Andre Citroen- The Man And the Motor cars The Shell Poster Book Coffee table book 'Racing Helme' (Racing Helmets) Guy
I've asked for the Lou Stanley one. If it's as interesting as he was, should be a great read..... Cheers, Ian
A real character. I have a copy of his book Grand Prix, World Championship 1964 and some of his comments are shall we say, period appropriate.
Guy, I received the Senna and Prost books today and I cannot wait to read them, thank you so much!! At first I was surprised at their size and then I realized that they are perfect for display behind both drivers F1 models in my future motorsports display. Just arrived (thanks Guy). Not far into yet, but seems he's not the biggest fan of Bernie.... "He knows the price of everything but the value of nothing." OTOH, on Rindts death, he "vividly recalls the sad task of breaking the news to Nina who was waiting with Colin & Bernie, who's quiet sympathy was an enormous help". [Prof Sid says the pretty much the same of Bernie - F1 is his whole life. In any crisis, he's there. If anyone involved needs any help, he'll happily & quietly provide it. No fanfare, no publicity. Just done.] Cheers, Ian
