Hello gents. A few questions regarding the gearbox in the 412 T2. 1- Could it shift more then one gear per pull? Or no, just one gear per pull? 2- If yes to 1, on upshifts and downshifts, or just downshifts? 3- If yes to 1, How many gears could it, and how does it know what to give you and what not? 4- The foot clutch is only used to get moving, stop and maybe in some emergency situations. Other wise the car takes care of the clutch, correct? Sorry for all the questions, trying to learn more and more about F1! Thanks!
1) as per the other thread...it was very likely capable of multiple shifts 2) No possible reason for it to have a double upshift capability. If anything...they'd want a system preventing that (although it rarely happens even now. Last I can remember was Alonso in Monza 2006 coming out of parabolica). 3) Not sure...But from the way either me or Spirot (?) described it, either in the ''preprogrammed'' way or the ''multiple clicks on downshift in quick succesion and jumping gears''...any number necessary. 4) Almost certainly flatshift + auto clutch when moving.
