I was looking at the barchetta webite and some others and I noticed something. They say (as other sites do too) that 11 412 T2's were made. BUT, the last serial number for the previous car was 155 (412 T1B) and the first for the car after is 166 (F310). That leaves 10 numbers, not 11 (see attached pic). Then when I found a chronological list I see there seems to be no 165 anything (see attached pic)?

    - So even though some lists say there were 11 412 T2's made, it looks like that would be impossible going by the lists, and that at most 10 were made, more likely just 9?

    - And why did Ferrari seem to skip number 165 as a s/n?

    Thanks!

Would that be the Ferrari 412 T2 fitted with the V10 engine? If so, surely that makes it a V10 mule?

Also, what about the chassis' used for crash testing?

Yes, there was a "mule" 412 T2 with a V10 in place of the V12. You guys think the missing #165 is that car?

Even if so, that still makes 10, not 11...

The V10 412 mule would have still carried it's V12 chassis number I suspect.

The V10 would have been fitted using some sort of adapter plate to make it fit correctly to the V12 mounting points.

Also, if a chassis were to be destroyed for crash testing, it should be one of the first built and not the last!

Mind you, this is Ferrari, and these are Italians we're talking about here! - I wouldn't put it past them to have built 11 cars with 9 chassis numbers! :p

You've got Me intrigued too now!

Well going by chassis numbers, the most they could have made was 10. So I think the 11 is a misprint. Reason I think this is 155 was a 412 T1B, so that would mean 156 would be the first 412 T2, and 166 was the first F310, which would mean 165 would be the last possible 412 T2.

But chassis number 165, what ever it is, or isn't, seems to be the mystery...maybe it is the V10 mule, maybe it was started, but not finished and used for spares?

All the other 412 T2's are accounted for.
