    Absolutely.

It seems the info is from the German website motorsport total. I'm not sure what their history of reliable information has been.

Actually, those aren't totally out of question. Sergio Marchionne would make a fine replacement for Montezemolo. How about Amedeo Felisa, the current Ferrari CEO? Is he being passed over?

And as far as Brawn replacing Mattiacci, that could make sense. But I think Brawn working under Mattiacci could work too. Mattiacci focuses on the management side, Brawn focuses on the technical side.

Making fun of my thread title is all you have to say? :) I figured you'd do a back flip if LdM is gone.

That's what I thought as well.

Agreed. Let's hope that Matiacci's recent calls of welcoming Brawn back were strategically planned because a move like this.

    Sing it.

Not making fun of your thread. Just too many serious threads lately. What you posted is very interesting. No doubt, Ferrari's future would change for the positive with LdM gone.

Mattiacci would bring a fresh, less political, less pressure, less BS, atmosphere to Ferrari. When Todt and Brawn were around, they did not put up with LdM's BS. He did not dare rattle their cage, and they won races and championships. Often. The team was happier, and not looking over their shoulders.

Yes, happy LdM would go. Too old to do backflips.

Autosport said the other day that Brawn was not in Ferrari plans?

rumors of LDM and Marchionne have been going around for a while.... doubtful that LDM is going anywhere... unless he wants to.

@pitlanetalk called this a month ago & hasn't tweeted again until today. I've always thought he was credible, but if this is true, then we know for sure he has real connections.

LdM's position is still dictated by Fiat or whoever. If they say he goes...that's it.

    Exactly:

''No Challenge stradale version of 430'' (sort of true, we get a scuderia)

''No Scuderia version for the 458'' (sort for true, we get the Speciale)

    ;)

If true its good news all around.
In a CNN interview this week Mattiachi said that Brawn was welcome to join the team but that he would remain number one. So, who knows?

As someone noted, *maybe* he runs the "management" & Ross does the engineering. But I'm just not sure Ross wants that. He's been the undisputed #1 boss as we know, why would he want to be #2?

Unless they make him an offer he can't refuse. Which is not beyond the realm of possibility of course.....

    Cheers,
    Ian

I agree. I think its been pretty much confirmed that Brawn and Ferrari have been talking but that no real progress was reached. I remember an interview he gave a few years back about leaving Ferrari and it was basically that he was passed over as Team principal/ leader etc... I think that was the rift between him and LDM.

I think it would be great to have him back, but on balance doubtful that he can perform miracles needed. i think he wants to fish and count his money.
