Pirelli threatens to withhold tyres from Caterham - report Pirelli threatens to withhold tyres from Caterham - report | News | Motorsport.com Caterham could be left stranded without tyres ahead of the forthcoming Japanese Grand Prix, according to the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.
Damn! If Pirelli is one of their biggest creditors it really shouldn't be a big deal! Even for them, one weeks payroll must dwarf that debt. (Although, as we know, there's also many rumors that the guys aren't getting paid either. ) Who the hell are these mysterious "Swiss & Middle Eastern" buyers? What are they trying to do? Sounds ominously like that other clown that kept claiming the money was coming and guaranteed 'Fauxtus was going to win'. And then disappeared off the face of the earth. Cheers, Ian
When BMW wanted to sell Sauber, they sang the same song about some 'middle eastern' investors..isn't it?
Both Caterham and Pirelli deny this rumor Caterham, Pirelli say Formula One team will have tires in Japan | Autoweek
I haven't read the story yet but I'd say that if Pirelli are one of their creditors then they're in real deep ****...Engines are a massive expense so I can get it...but if your team can't pay for some rubber during the weekend then it's something else IMO. I have a confession to make here...I like to phone up struggling F1 teams, put on an accent and pretend to be a rich middle eastern guy who wants to buy their team...
