I whish him a full and fast recovery. Hang in there Jules. BBC Sport - Jules Bianchi undergoes surgery after Japanese Grand Prix crash
Spent an evening with him and the Ferrari mechanics. Very nice guy, we even did some karting....good times, forza Jules! This really upset me today, especially combined with the death of Andrea De Cesaris
Well, I just hope that, like Mark Twain, the statements of his death have been greatly exaggerated. But there area a LOT of questions in my mind about that crash. I saw a YouTube clip taken after his car was already buried behind the Sauber. It appeared that the "crash worker" or corner worker standing on the crane was waving a green flag - That makes NO sense. But it might help explain why he did not slow enough to avoid Sutil's accident.
Extensively discussed in the race thread. The green was indeed being waved *after* the accident location. As always. Nothing wrong there. Get well soon Jules, Ian
From SKY - Sky Sports HQ's Craig Slater confirms that Jules Bianchi is only breathing with aid from the Mie Hospital in Suzuka. The Marussia F1 driver suffered a critical head injury in the Japanese Grand Prix and has had to undergo surgery and is still in a critical condition Bianchi still critical | Video | Watch TV Show | Sky Sports
That does not sound good... when was the last time we had an accident in F1 with a driver in a life-threatening condition? Kubica's crash in Canada?
Do not forgot Ralf Schumacher in the US and Felipe Massa in Hungary. We had a couple of close calls in the recent years that are easily forgotten. Massa was freak accident category, though.
It seems that his family has learned from Michael's experience with the press and are preserving their privacy. Good for them.
Prayers for Bianchi and family. I know it's not clear what happened, but in hindsight, was it really worth racing with the typhoon approaching? Arm-chair quarterbacking, I know. On the surface, this accident seems senseless and Sutil's comments are chilling.
I watched after knowing about the crash. I also knew about the huge amount of rain at the start as I watched that live and decided to sleep instead. But having watched the rest of the race later on quite a few of the drivers were handling it very well and all the adjustments being made such as steering wheel changes and tires was made for an interesting race until ... Perhaps they should have stopped the race while they retrieved the first car but other than that the conditions during the race were not of typhoon proportions.
Holy ****. You know, I'm curious if something happened to the car or he just came in too hot. He literally went straight off the track.
