Alonso To McLaren (rumor, updates, etc...)

should be good. unlike many on here i actually think mclaren will retain button. he is loved in japan, dates a japanese woman, and of course a british driver with mclaren will satisfy english fans. plus he won a WDC in the former honda/brawn car and used to race for BAR back in the day. I'd be surprised if he isn't retained.

if it happens i can't wait to see how jenson fairs against alonso.

+1 this is getting sillier than the stories themselves.

I was fully expecting this thread to have the official release; it's stated as fact in the title after all.

But no, it's yet another rehash of something that's already been reported in at least two other threads right here.

While I posted this news in the other two threads ahead of this one, I am genuinely happy for this fantastic outcome: Alonso at McLaren will be awesome, just as I'm pleased to see Vettel in red. Add Ricci at the cans and Hami at Merc and we will have a nice group to follow next year.

 

Perhaps Fred snitched something from Maranello to make amends with RD.
I don't care where that rat goes as long as it away from Ferrari.

 

Autosport is not reporting this (yet) and I give them far more credibility than I do Autoweek.

it's not that its "doubted", but rather the thread title suggesting it's a fact - It's not! It's just yet another report that may, or may not, be true and the other threads have covered all these stories myriads of times.

As I said, given the thread title, I was fully expecting the official release, which would warrant a new thread. But further "rumors", couched as fact certainly does not.

The keyword word is, of course, "*reportedly*".....

While you are right in a way, in this case I agree with Ian, there is sufficient other threads dealing with that matter where for weeks have been articles with the same message been posted. So there is really nothing new in this thread.
For that reason everyone get's excited reading the title, hoping it to be official. and then it isn't. Doesn't matter what conclusions we have drawn already for ourselves.
