Both RBs will be starting from the pit lane after their noses were found to flex.

Took them all season to find this out?

Nope, that would mean that there are serious deficiencies in the technical scruteneering, and that would be unthinkable in modern Formula 1. Maybe it was an unvoluntary error in the manufacturing of this batch of spares.

Or maybe it´s just that the FIA guys are morons or that Red Bull was trying a new cheat for next season.

I posted a link in the qualy thread. Red Bull feels they were 'singled out'

May be a specific wing designed for this track only, a last throw of the dice, so previous wings weren't so bad (although I'm convinced they have always sailed close to the wind with their wings and floors)

Looks like Red Bull gave them wings that flex too much! :p

The issue of flexing front-wing keeps coming back.

Difficult to control since teams use new body elements all the time.

Some close-up slow-motion footage reveal quite a lot of movement on most cars.

The new elements are hung on an existing structure. It's that structure that appears to be bendy.

Interestingly, it was thought that McLaren's new front wing was an exact copy of Red Bulls - As the McLaren wing doesn't seem to flex as much, it appears that it's not that exact after all!

Although, Mclarens new Prodromu (sp?) designed 'wonder wing' didn't last long at all. I think they both tried it during FP and declared it crap. I'll concede it looked pretty though. ;)

The BBC showed pictures of both teams wing end elements and they were pretty much identical.

Apparently they were both the work of Peter Prodromou who left Red Bull for McLaren so chances are they should have been pretty similar in almost all aspects!

(It may be that Red Bull decided to push the limits a bit further than McLaren were prepared to!)

Most amusing thing to me here is the Cans whining that they were 'singled out'!.... Bwah, bwah, bwah!..... The bendy test is *very* well defined in the tech regs. Fall foul of the test, get penalized. Simple.

I guess they tested both cars too. Both bad? Back of the grid boys...... Well done Charlie.

FWIW, I'd put money on Mercs being tested this weekend too.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Singled out! :p Sure, how unfair to test the team that spent the last few years with flexible wings and noses but somehow managed to pass the tests; the team single-handedly responsible for the much revised and tougher wing deflection tests! Why would the FIA pick them for a wing flex test?

So if all their wings are not passing the test what are they driving on Sunday? If they have different ones with them that suit the regulations it would be obvious that they knew something like this could happen with the one they used..

Good thing Ferrari would never build a car with flexible front wings. :D
