That is not Mefistofele... S76: https://barchetta.mediacenter.pro/?i=2440810&rd=1964532&fd=2117786 Mefistofele: https://barchetta.mediacenter.pro/?i=1748711&rd=1964532&fd=1989055
You´re welcome. The car in the vid is a Type S76 with 28 litre, Mefistofele "only" had about 21,7 litre capacity...
WTF!!! Now resurrect Nuvolari so he can take it for a ride!!! That's exacly what the f14t needs, this sort of engine
Only indeed! The collection that I volunteer at has a 1908 Mors with just 12.5 liters. Puny in comparison. They run every car periodically and I do hope to hear it.
Come down and see for yourself! Ran this one this last week. Photo courtesy of the Collier Collection. Image Unavailable, Please Login
You are at Collier??? We have a 47 litre car nearby: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pcRRk0msas They roast sausages with the flames from the exhaust....
I'm up in Sarasota but volunteer there. Amazing cars, great people and a superb organization all around. Cool vid but I'm not sure that that's the best way to cook wurst.
... wonderful example of early 20th century automotive engineering; the Italians, rising to the occasion. Equivalent of 4 AC Cobra side-oilers, count 'um, 427 X 4, that's 1,708 cubic inches (and then some). Over 7 litres per cylinder, piston diameter the size of a small Frisbee, expected engine life of FIAT's S76 won't be much more than 80 to 90 clicks. If that. "Gobble-de-double-down-ebbidie-4-million, ebbidie-ebbidie-ebbidie, four-four-four, do-we-have-four? Who's-got-four?", that FIAT's going to fetch a few million at the cable television auction on the old guy's Viagra channel. Bad policy, sparking-up an engine without fitting its down-pipe -- asj.
I was down at the collection today and they had the Fiat vid up on the big screen. Followed by this. Enjoy http://youtu.be/daVDrGsaDME
