So... • Double-points system is out. • The virtual safety car has been approved, and will be used by order of the clerk of the circuit when double yellow flags are on but don't necessarily require the real safety car to come out. • Race suspensions/restarts have been changed; teams are now supposed to head to the pits instead of the starting grid. • The penalties for replacing engines will change, and now will be based on the number of components being replaced with a tiered-penalty system. ----------------- Full dl: Formula 1® - The Official F1® Website - Headlines - FIA announces changes to 2015 calendar and rules and oh, Korea is supposedly back on the calendar: March 15: Australia March 29: Malaysia April 12: China April 19: Bahrain May 3: Korea (unconfirmed) May 10: Spain May 24: Monaco June 7: Canada June 21: Austria July 5: Britain July 19: Germany July 26: Hungary August 23: Belgium September 6: Italy September 20: Singapore September 27: Japan October 11: Russia October 25: USA November 1: Mexico November 15: Brazil November 29: Abu Dhabi
Despite the Sky headline, there's hardly what I would call a 'host of rule changes' if you look closely. In addition to the stuff mentioned they've also done a little tightening to the crash test specs. One, really sensible, (!) change that nobody's mentioned though is they're no longer in parc ferme from the beginning of FP3. Parc ferme now starts when they leave the pits for the first time in qualy. Cheers, Ian
