Hey, Just picked this up at Pitpass. I'm actually prepared to give this guy a chance..... I'm beginning to wonder if he may be being 'groomed' to take over from Bernie...... Or is 'angling' for the gig?..... Seems there's nobody else in the frame, although with him we never know of course. But the other names that have been floated have ruled themselves out one way or another. I also recall a recent article in Motorsport detailing how March, an incredibly successful manufacturer back in the day, went down the toilet once what they called 'standard suits' took over.... Motorsport, at this level anyway, is a very different business to all others I can think of. Cheers, Ian
When I saw the title of this thread, I thought that Arturo Merzario had made a big pronouncement about F1..... Little Art will always be F1's Marlboro man....
Or angling to gather support before transferring it to one Luca Cordero di Montezemolo? All the best, Andrew.
The day they stop meddling the rules, is the day they're gonna start saving a tonne of cash. Just go back to basics and scrap all this going green BS. You want green, go look at Le Mans. F1 went from Metallica to One Direction now..
Pretty spot on assessment, although I was sick of the Red Bull years. I preferred the sound, but had it with Vettel and the Aerodynamic BS winning races due to the Blown Diffuser. At least in 2005-2009 we had great sound and more than two teams capable of winning.
At the end of the Tony, F1 i think is supposed to be the pinnacle of racing. Or so it was. Now there's too much of control, teams and engineers cannot innovate, the cars look and sound horrible. F1 these days is about save tires, save engine, save gearbox, save fuel..which means..why bother even racing is you want to race slow?
He is right. He is saying many things others have said. Yet we have no real change in F1. Nothing will change until Bernie and CVC are out of the picture. I have zero faith in the FIA so who is left to enforce/provide any meaningful change??
