I have the privilege of choosing free tickets to any F1 GP of my choice. I am somewhat limited to my dates (Between end of June and Sept 1 with the possibility of Spain as well) so that leaves the following:

    Spain (Catalunya) May 10
    Austria (Spielberg) Jun 21
    Silverstone Jul 5
    German Jul 19
    Hungary (Budapest) Jul 26
    Belgian (Spa-Francorchamps) Aug 23
    Italy (Monza) Sep 6

I'm looking for the venue that offers the best racing, local scenery, access to the track, accommodations, etc.

    Thanks in advance!!

Spa or Monza before they are eliminated by boring Tilke venues.

Spa -- rain or shine. Spectating at any corner except the Bus Stop is rewarding, but do not miss Eau Rouge for qualifying! Visit the legendary model shop a few hundred meters up from La Source (turn one). Dinner at Le Roannay (reserve now!) in the same direction; it's an inn as well. Some nice places to stay in Grand Coo to the southwest, with less traffic on the way in to the circuit. Tour the lovely spa town of, well, Spa. Make some time to drive through the national forest on the east side of the circuit where you can still see concrete 'tank teeth' from the Battle of the Bulge. Spa is just magic...

You guys are awesome! I knew Spa was going to be the answer - just needed reassurance. I'd be going to Monza if it was't for Mr. Vettel joining the team.

This year I'll be wearing Honda colors so I wouldn't want to be the outcast in Italy, haha.

    Thanks again for the help!

I agree 100%, been to Monza twice, was really lucky and got to see Fernando win for Ferrari in 2010, it was epic. Spa is on the bucket list if they fix F1 and make it compelling to me again.

Agree with the rest, can't go wrong with Spa or Monza, for sheer atmosphere alone!

Spa is the one attented by people who love racing the very most, at any level. Obviously at Monza there is a big tifosi following as well (to the point where you will see crowd leaving if both Ferrari's are out).

Proviso for Spa is that its a long lap and in the middle of nowhere so there is little accommodation nearby and you don't get as many chances to see the cars - Monza is just by Milan and far far less likely to be wet

As you near your decision look up all the previous threads for how to visit each race to get a feel for the facilities & access etc

have to agree with Monza. Been to both and Monza is almost a religious experience, especially if you grew up with "Grandprix". When walking in under the old banking all I could think of was "Sarti mort"...

If I ever make it to Europe, Spa and Monza would be my choices, though I could see myself going to Silverstone first. Monaco? Only if someone else is paying the bills!

We lucked out two years back and snuck a Monaco race in as we had a layover in Nice the same weekend as the race. Extended our day layover to 4. Monaco was phenomenal however the racing itself was fair at best.

I went to Long Beach in '79 and sat near the bottom of a grandstand at the Queen's Hairpin. When the cars went by, all I could see were the driver's heads and the rear wings! And there was no place to see anything if you weren't in a grandstand or in one of the buildings that overlooked the course. In '80 I had a seat higher up in a grandstand which was much better.

MONZA.... I was there in 93 when Jean Alesi took 2nd, and in 06 for Schumacher's last victory at Monza for the Scuderia. Both were Epic!
