I've looked at previous threads and found section K2 is suggested along with Casino Square (Grandstand B) and the swimming pool complex. Also suggested were from a yacht and from an apartment. For these options, does anyone have any suggestions of a reputable place to purchase or does anyone have an apartment/yacht they are packaging out etc? All and any suggestions welcome, including any for restaurants, things to do, etc. Thank You!
You can still buy tickets directly from the Automobile Club de Monaco at: Automobile Club de Monaco . Their interactive website gives you a pretty good idea of the advantages of the various grandstands where seats are still available. Having said all that, the row in which your seat is located matters a lot too, not just the location of the grandstand. I prefer the top row of a low-numbered K grandstand because you can not only see from just after the exit of the tunnel over towards the swimming pool, but you can also turn around (without blocking anyone) and see the front straight leading up to Ste. Devote. By now, though, all the top row K seats are likely long gone- I buy mine the day they go on sale, and that was many months ago. If you do a search here you'll find a thread or two I've done over the years on this topic- this May will be my 24th year in a row at the GP de MC, so I know the drill pretty well by now. If you have specific questions not addressed in my earlier threads, let me know and I'll do my best as time permits.
I'm going as well and looking at a yacht seat for the race and a different place for qualifying. Any suggestions for who to contact?
I've used Alexandra Lloyd properties a couple of times I know they have some apartments with Gp circuit views... its gonna be$$$$$$$
We went in 2014 and it was an amazing time!! We sat in grandstand K (can't remember what number) but we were down close to the swimming pool. We also sat near the top so could see the drivers exiting out of the pitlane, the start/finish straightaway and also the podium. some pics... To each his own, I guess, but I've never understood the appeal of yacht-based viewing, since even the giant ones are too low to allow for an expansive view- I think it's something that's more for those who are there not to see, but rather to be seen, if you know what I mean.
Anyone remember this classic move by Kimi in Monaco 2006? He retired his car and walked directly to his Yacht. Image Unavailable, Please Login

That's why! 😁 Ira, the truth is I'm going to Monaco for the experience. I generally prefer to either participate in a race, though obviously not at this level, or watch on TV. I've been around race tracks in one form or fashion for most of my life. And to really know what's going on I need to have a tv screen. Sad but true.mI go to the Canadian GP for the food and party as much as anything. And I'm looking forward to Monaco for pretty much the same reasons. Do I need to bring a tuxedo to play baccarat in the casino? 😀 Best, David
Ira, good to know re yacht. I was looking at that option as well. Right now the leading candidates are a balcony at either Beau Rivage or Terrasse à l'Académie de Danse if anyone has any input to help sway my vote. Looks like some decent seats at K5 are available still as well.
ya that might be right. We sat in K3 for practice i remember. I don't think you can go wrong with anywhere in K as its directly in front of the train entrance as well.
high up in T section is good for watching the action in the pits. not a great track view though. highly recommend staying in monaco just for the night life. great party feel. definitely go to the casino in casino square. dont need a tux, actually jeans and a nice sport coat is the preferred dress. need to take your passport for entrance. betting at the black jack table is similar to las vegas wrt the table minimums. its actually very relaxed in there. i cant wait to go back in 2016.
Fair enough- as I said, "to each his own"! I too have spent a good part of my life at race tracks, and have even had the privilege of driving a couple of F1 cars, albeit briefly. I've been to my fair share of F1 races (this May will be my 24th Monaco GP), and I go to see the cars up close (which you can still do in MC better than elsewhere) AND for the atmosphere, so both are a major part of the experience for me. It's just that my priority is a good view of the race, although you're right that a TV is essential- that's why I record the races and watch again after I return home!
Wow - 24 years in a row - I am envious. I have been to a number of different races over the years, and rate my experiences at Monaco 2009 as my best. It helped that I stayed 100m from our seats at casino square!
Monaco is all about the atmosphere - get closer to cars than normal, walk the track after the sessions finish - stand opposite the pitlane and watch the goings on from a public walkway. Wander around the pit area bumping into all the faces of F1. superb....
I certainly didn't take anything you said as being negative! To each their own indeed! (My father used to say "that's why they make more than one color paint") I'm very much looking forward to it. I've wanted to go since I was a little kid! Which F1 cars have you driven and what were your impressions? That would be a lot of fun! I have only been to a few F1 races. By the time I started going a couple of years ago the cars had been so heavily regulated that they were certainly less beautiful and perhaps less interesting. What era cars did you enjoy the most?
David, You doing Montreal this year? We talked at the metro last year and took the train to the track. I am a nobody so you most likely dont remember me. If you are going to Montreal this year, stop in Wanda's at 4 pm. You will find me there and drinks on me! -Dominic
Dominic! Of course I remember you! 50/50 I'll make Montreal this year. I hope to, and if so we will definitly make a Wandas trip! How are you? David
That's great! I stay in the Condamine neighborhood about a 5-minute walk from my seats in the K grandstands.
You'll have a blast- I guarantee it! Do you have all your plans firmed up? I briefly drove both a '97 and a '98 Arrows (at Road America and on a dusty little road course at Las Vegas Motor Speedway), and my only claim to fame was that I managed not to stall! Despite having driven a number of lesser race cars, the experience scared the shirt out of me- acceleration was brutal, and the shifts were mind-bogglingly quick. And yes, even after just a few laps, my neck was sore the next day. My favorite era? Crazy (and costly) as it was, I liked the turbo era of 1,200 hp qualifying engines and mile-wide rear wheels/tires, but never actually saw them "live".
I have rooms at the Metrople and am working on seats and such with them now. I'm probably flying into Paris a few nights before the race weekend. I'm debating a night in the Liore valley, mas my favorite wines are from there. 😁 Originally I'd planned on this being at least a two week trip, but some family issues are making it more like a week. The Arrows must have been awesome! I think not stalling is a great accomplishment! We're those carbon/carbon brake cars? I have heard that they are hard to get your mind around. I've never driven anything near that fast. May I ask how you arranged driving them? I think my favorite eras was perhaps the early 90's. Fast beautiful cars, with some real innovation still.
