I think they better concentrate their efforts on the current car

Ya nice concept. It would be worth more if they were winning. No one knows the future of F1 including its current membership. The political future is far more of an issue, assuming there is an F1 to be concerned about lol!

Looks cool, but fenders on formula cars - bleh. While cool looking, I don't know that I like it better than the current car.

    Side/rear looks Dallara DW12-ish.

Right, that car more than doubles the downforce available.......never even be considered.

IMHO, they're just trying to make a point rather than saying this is the only way to go in the future. Like Ron Dennis, it seems to me that they're making the point that F1 cars can and should be inspiring and exciting again, and that the look should change in a real, radical way from time to time to capture the imaginations of the fans.

Of course there some little things I'd change here and there, but that's kinda part of the point to me, and yeah, it's plenty sexy.

It seems Ron Dennis agrees, at least in principle, with the point Ferrari are trying to make with the release of those renderings. So do I. I have to admit my disappointment in recent years when I see the car launches and they look pretty much like the car from the year before, but with a few wrinkles here and there. It's time to shake things up. F1 got where it is because it was always the series that would grab your imagination.

Not bad looking at all but I don´t think that they need so radical changes. Changing the nose and resizing the wings already would do miracles.

i like the big wheels. but to be frank. they need to focus on winning rather than worry about looking good.

as many pundits on here say, the best looking car is the winning car.

I think it is exciting. Several teams have published futuristic cars and they are all very exciting looking. I think even road cars will evolve to hover cars in the not too distant future, so maybe that is where the dynamic future for F1 will lie.

The F-1 cars of today are courtesy of Max Mosley and his vision of what he thought the
    series should be.

It has landed with a thud, traditional tracks like Hockenheimring had embarrassingly low
spectator turnout particularly when compared to DTM events.

If Todt & Co. were smart, they'd loosen the grip of the virtual spec cars and unleash the
designers to come up with cars like this. Either it works or it doesn't but one thing for
sure, it will create much more interest and make F-1 more F-1 again.

I agree - let them go nuts w design and engines...just keep the wheels and cockpits open otherwise this is not F1 anymore.

It looks more like an Indy car but it is a great approach.

As I understand it, at the recent meeting to discuss the future of F1, both McLaren and Red Bull displayed images of their F1 concept cars to the other teams but refused to publish them to the general public.

Ferrari on the other hand decided to let the public see their ideas for the future of F1.

You're right. All that is keeping this from happening is the FIA and its rules which promote sameness with the hope of fostering close competition.

If they're going with fenders, it should have looked like the Gran Turismo Vision Chaparral. That would be pretty cool to watch.
