https://www.formula1.com/content/fom-website/en/subscribe.html Sir Bernard may have just worn me out with this one. It's not the money, it's the principle.
I was shocked! I logged on today to find a new website and tried signing on with my old info and was rebuffed with a required subscription. I only wanted to read the news and see the timing!
No. You need to give a credit card # to get a "Free" trial until mid-April, at which time you automatically become a subscriber.
at least its cheaper then the MotoGP subscription.... though motogp does offer a lot more, not only do you get telemetry, you get the whole weekends worth of coverage including the support races, and you can pick which riders live video stream you want to follow.
+1 Talk about "bwah, bwah, bwah!..... We're talking about just over a buck a race for the exact same data the guys on the wall are looking at.... Plus, different cameras, etc etc. I have no problem at all paying the man less than I leave as a tip after buying a beer! Same thing happened when cricket, then soccer, went (largely) to pay TV - "It's outrageous!", "I'm never going to watch again!". That's fine, but isn't life all about choice? You wanna play, you gotta pay!..... No problem with those who don't want to pay, but neither do I have a problem paying less than a buck and a quarter per race for my fix of F1. It substantially enhances my enjoyment for the cost of a few beers...... Cheers, Ian
I just went through with safari and it did not prompt me for a cc, though it did say they wod charge soon
Free site working for me I'm glad they finally updated the site, hopefully they got rid of java for timing. A bit silly to launch the new site on the same day F1 starts. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Is this working for anyone? I received a generic "something went wrong" error when signing up, then an email confirming the sign up, and now when I log in I get a "There is a problem with your account" message. Did I just waste $30?
Yesterday you needed a cc to use the site. Today its free, but it seems to be in some sort of limited mode. For instance, the results of FP2 only list drivers in order, but no times or laps completed. It looks like it could have potential, or not.
They did away with the nice results tables. Pay more, get less. Apple is determined to kill the traditional web.
Unfortunately, all that good stuff is now only in the paid version. There's many more screens of info, but here's a shot of it running in demo mode. Cheers, Ian Image Unavailable, Please Login
And theres many more screens available..... However, I do agree that the results tables aren't as informative as they used to be - here's the results from FP2 for example; ******SPOILER ALERT!****** . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Image Unavailable, Please Login
Another thing that's gone AWOL (from the web site) is the handy-dandy "Rolex event timetable" that you could switch between race time & your local time. I used that all the time. Cheers, Ian
Likewise. Big letdown from the previously easy-to-navigate site. Every step that used to be one click is now 3 or 4 clicks. The results and points used to be one click away, now you need to click on: Championship, results, 2015 race results, australia, and finally on race. Not user friendly at all. Any suggestions for an alternative f1 site?
The cost of the premium app went from $13/season last year to $26 this year. And the app sucks - I've opened it several times over the past few days and the headline story is still "Marussia disappointed not to run Friday". You have to delete, download, reinstall to get the news to update sometimes.
