What are the odds on a Merc whitewash? Could they win every race in the calendar? Is bad weather the only thing that can defeat them?

I dont think weather will do it alone - Driver error(yes even LH could suffer this) or mechanical problems will be needed.

I think it would take two things on the same day. A bad day for Mercedes and a good day for the rest of the teams. Pretty difficult.

I'd be hugely surprised if the Merc bosses would achieve Ros and Ham not to clash again at some point.
If Rosberg doesn't want to write off the season soon he'll need to try stuff. I predict they will pull a Vettel-Webber at minimum.

Mechanical issues are much more likely. Even in the 2nd season there will be unpredictable things happen.

And with a new race in Mexico, Bernie will order everyone to let Perez win!

Mechanical issue or driver incident is the only way.

Rosberg will need to take the fight to Hamilton if he is capable of doing so, perhaps he just doesn't have the outright speed?

One of the interesting things about motor race cars is that if you don't push them very hard, they don't break as often.

Given that Merc has at least 1 second per lap advantage, Merc drivers don't have to push as hard, and we should expect very high reliability.

Rosberg is the only one capable of causing Hamilton to drive hard enough to cause a reliability issue.

Give it time...i've seen this "movie" too many times and still no team was able to win every single race. Sooner or later there will be a chance for others, may be the weather, a colision, a failure, but will get our win at some point...

Yes, hopefully Hamilton and Rosberg crash once or twice this year, just to keep the
entertainement going... If one goes and takes the championship by the summer, it will
    be a long season.

    According to Maurizio:
"I believe in the race we can be up there and fight at the front."

    :)

As I've said many times, "optimism springs eternal" in all classes of motorsport. You've got to believe you can improve, or else why bother?

Even dear little Manor have to believe they'll steal a few points this year.

    Nature of the game IMO.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Can one honestly survive without at least a small percentage of the other? I do understand what you mean.

Seb can win if Ferrari changes over to Mercedes as its engine supplier.

Right behind Hamilton Alonso and Ricardo... I think if Merc do not DNF Hamilton could win every grand prix this year.

And I think the likelihood of Hamilton winning every race is like a person's chances of winning the lottery, highly unlikely.

TifosiUSA said it best imho....The only thing that can beat Merc is Merc.

I believe this to Merc can only Brady themselves at this point and so far Hamilton has Rosberg's number. I hope he isn't just managing a gap the entire season that would be boring

It has only been one race though so who is to say Nico will not have Lewis's number this weekend or all the next weekends???? Remember the saying "You are most likely to be your own worst enemy, self doubt or questioning"? Should be fun but I dealt with the odd hours much easier in the '80s but I have a rule, must watch live and no rerun's LOL.

PS, Wet or dry conditions Mercedes is still ahead of everyone else regarding the chassis and engine. I personally love to see underdogs win so best of luck to all teams and drivers.
