    Hello,

I am going to Spa Francorchamps for the first time, as well as Brussels. Do you have any advice for the F1 event and/or for visiting Brussels???

    Thank You!

Buy a parking pass if you are driving, or you will be walking miles.

if you can I recommend you stay in Hotel L"Ermitage in Bastogne... a car is very necessary. its not far, but traffic on race weekend is a bit crazy.

also on your way to Malmedy you can drive on the old circuit.

If you try to stay in the town of Spa - its $$$$$$$$$$ and very crowded. but check out the hotel where the Kaiser stayed ... pretty cool all the history that is in the area.

If you are going by car, at the end of the race dont rush out of the track. Because you will not move any where for hours. Take the opotunity to have a walk on the tack and take in the atmosphere after the race, pick up some souvenirs tyre rubber :). I guarante that you will love doing this instead of sitting in the car park for two hours, i kid you not, enjoy the track walk and take in the history.

Hey guys, another questions, have any of you taken the bus from the track vs the train...? What's better?

i've always felt the best way to go is to rent a rv and stay at the track

That could be cool. I'm trying to make it back to Brussels ASAP after race because I'm training to Paris that night.

Do you have to be in Paris on Monday?

If yes, I guess you've just got to deal with it. But, Spa is a lot like Silverstone - If you can hang out (and an on track RV would be cool as mentioned) till Monday your life will be much less stressed.

    My 02c,
    Cheers & enjoy,
    Ian

    Where do you get it?

    I repeat my question:

Where do you physically get the parking pass?

I know they can be ordered on F1.com but you get their tix normally at their will call booth at the track entrance. Well at that point you already parked your car.

So can you drive into the parking lots at Spa and buy the parking ticket right there as it is normal for all other venues or do you have to preorder it somehow?

I do not know, as we did not order one. I'll check and see if my friends know. I think maybe it was to be purchased online and physically mailed to you.

I did some research and there are two places and methods: one by mail (I hate that as they wait till the last moment) and one by email. I tried that and paid but they havent sent anything yet :(

I've been 3 times and don't remember for sure but I think would be better to have a parking pass as for some lot's you may have to show a pass to traffic control to be allowed into the roads leading to the lot on race day.

You might try this web address F1 Belgian Grand Prix (21-23 August 2015) Circuit of SPA-Francorchamps - Formula One Tickets Shop - Gootickets - Official Site (don't know how to post link into message here) for Gootickets website. They had parking passes listed for purchase and will ship. I have used them in the past and they were reputable.

If you go over the grounds map of the track you can decide which parking lot likely would have the shortest distance to the autoroute of choice in the direction of Paris. It is quicker to walk to your car than drive around the grounds after the race on Sunday.

    Much good advice deleted in the interest of bandwidth. But this made me chuckle;

It is quicker to get married & have kids than drive around the grounds post race! :)

[Silverstone is the same. ;) ]

    Cheers,
    Ian

I found a place which offers heli transport. I sent them an email but didn't hear back.
