Almost missed this one. Being that we had a Senna remembrance thread, and he never drove for ferrari. It was 33 years ago today. #27 Gilles Villeneuves. Image Unavailable, Please Login
As I have posted many times over the years: Gilles Villeneuve: Too young to die! - Too fast to live! Salut Gilles!
Sorry I missed this thread. Have not found FChat to be interesting for a while. My photos of GV at Long Beach: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jochen Mass....I know it wasn't his fault, but I still find myself harboring ill feelings towards him. RIP to the most relentless, exciting driver I've seen. Super, ultra competitive guy.
I have that exact picture framed and hanging on my office wall... I was 15 yrsld living in Caracas when Gilles left us... I was watching with my dad and we were in utter disbelief... To think that 33 years later I'm working with the Director of the Gilles Villneuve museum to help raise money to keep the museum and his legacy alive...almost surreal at times ...
Best of luck to you guys, It's hard to believe that the most loved Ferrari driver is having trouble keep a museum...i guess the problem is it being in canada, in Italy perhaps this wasn't such a problem...the worst about loosing Gilles is the knowledge that we will never again see a driver of his talent, f.1 will never again be as good as when he was driving....salut Gilles.
