Yep I first post.. few years back this ? would have been a joke... On a neutral track..Laguna 1) 0.6 liters adv for JPM..so better power band ..weight about same.. 2) Better aero thanks to wider body and better CFD..Indy cars can pass.. 3) Pirelli Vs Bridgestones ( Yep I know Michelin's are the best ) 3) Crap F1 rules ... So what do you think? Cheers Texel
What's the question? I'm confused as well ... Obviously its Hamilton v. JPM in some vehicle, but what vehicle?
Just for the record, Hamilton would beat Montoya in any identical car, but I don't know if that's what you're asking.
I think he's asking whether a current Indy car would be faster than a current Formula 1 car around Laguna. All the best, Andrew.
Just like Montoya, I broke my freaking head trying to think about it. Either Cole Trickle or Memo Moreno at Laguna would put on a clinic for JPM and Hamilton.
I thought my question was clear.. JPM in his Penske Chevy Vs Hamilton in his Silver Arrow at Laguna Seca.. The current F1 rules suck so much that the JPM/Chevy might be competitive. Cheers
Hard to tell...I think the Indy car has more outright speed but the handling/aero on the F1 car is still otherworldly. On a track like Laguna Seca, I'd still take the F1 car. I think it would kill in those last three turns especially.
Hamilton. That's not the track where an Indycar would have an advantage. Monza maybe closer but probably not either.
