Igor, Thanks for posting. SWEET.. Now there's something else to do while in Milan for Monza race! I've seen the Scuderia storage at Maranello and could not fit in those actual cars. Wonder if this simulator will accommodate my 6' 2" frame? Oh well - there's just one way to confirm. ;-)
It's been there for a LONG time. My son did this in 2006 when we were visiting Milan. It's very challenging and he wasn't such a good driver then, but would do very well today. I'm pretty sure it was free back then, but it was so long ago that maybe I'm not remembering that correctly.
Really? Why are they saying is new then? Tbh was checking ferrari's new patents and there were a few regarding a simulator recently so I thought it was this. They also patented "Ferrari Gear" and "Ferrari Gearbox" i imagine for their store merchandise
I don't know. Could it be that the simulator patent is related to the Ferrari park in Dubai? Or maybe they expanded the F1 simulator in Milan from when we were there (but the photos look similar to what I remember).
They could also be for their proper F1 simulator as the patents are actually about a very complex system with all sorts of mechanisms to simulate motion. From hexapodal platforms to wires to inertial compensation and whatnot. Or even more probable, for their upcoming Ferrari park in Spain
Hi Peterp. The "simulator" (just a video game) you are talking about was deactivated many many years ago when the first Ferrari Store was closed in Milan. This new simulator has just been set up at the new Ferrari Store (at different location) that has been opened for a month or two.
Oh, and by the way, it's not a "simulation center", they just have set up this simulator in the underground floor of the new store.
Museo Ferrari in Maranello has 3 simulators. It looks a bit like the old one with an F1 chassis, but is on a small motion platform. It's very well done. I may be able to post a video of it later. The is another simulator in the Enzo museum in Modena, but it wasn't open when we were there.
it's the same thing as the ones in Maranello. There are three at the museum, one at the Ferrari rental, and one at the Enzo's house museum. $20 Euro for 10 min.
Yes, 20 Eur for 10 minutes at the Ferrari rental place, 25 Eur for 7 minutes at the official Ferrari locations . The Ferrari rental place quoted their cost for the simulator at 85k Eur (don't know if that's accurate, but that's what they claim).
