Here is a better picture from Gutierrez FB account...

Actually Kimi is not in the picture, so probably it was late and he is under the table...there are some others missing...Grossjean...Haryanto...

And it's clear...you can't buy class...wearing a cap while indoors and at night...and be the only one...

Steve Madincea reports that Kimi wasn't there at all.

Suggestions, and they're only suggestions, are that he was getting a Chinese "four
    handed massage" at the time.

And only one of them with an overall Le Mans win.

In other news, the Chinese Grand Prix has been postponed because half the grid has food poisoning.

Everyone smiling except Lewis. It's nice to know that some level of fellowship still exists in F1.

He is smiling. It's the same way I tend to smile in photo's most of the time.

Every dinner with friends needs its unpopular friend, the one that found out the dinner was on and turned up assuming an invite that wasn't made! here they made him wear a cap so there's no confusion!

Kimi is notorious for disappearing after a race. He becomes a ghost until the next event.

Can you imagine all those accents in one room having a conversation in 5 different languages.

Lewis is smiling. The hat at the table is disrespectful where I come from, but everyone's different.

    "Ill have a beer, i'll have a beer, i'll have a beer, (max) i'll have a soda

Of course, we're all over looking the possibility that it was Kimi who took the pictures!

(But I'll stick with My: "He couldn't be arsed" theory as it's pretty much guaranteed to be right! :) ).

I can hear the conversation now:

"Hey Seb! - What did Kimi say when you told him about this dinner?"

Sebastian Vettel: "I'm not really sure to be honest - All I hear was: Hmmmm.......mumble....mumble......not really hmmm........mumble...mumble......so we see but..........mumble...mumble......maybe is okay or maybe not but er .......mumble.... mumble........hmmmm.......I don't really know so we see!"

An attempted power move and display of unity when they actually have none.

They could be easily replaced by the teams and they would kill each other for a dollar.

I seriously doubt it - Pretty much all of them are now multi-Millionaires, and those that aren't are not exactly desperate for cash!

Now had you said: "and they would kill each other for the best car!", then I'd be more inclined to agree with you!

Windbangs United... LOL. One for Bernie.

The picture speaks volumes. This shows that the group is closer together. Often times,
the big boys don't hang out with the newbies.

holy crap, really, with the hat comments? It's been a while since I lived in another country, but I'd bet a survey of people in the US would find half the guys wearing baseball hats at dinner at whatever restaurant they go to.

I'm not a Lewis fan, but geeze.

Really? It certainly a different culture then ...

Wearing a baseball hat would be frowned upon in many restaurants I know.

Maybe we have a different interpretation of what a "restaurant" is ...

A place that sells food is not necessarily a restaurant ...

I still think the hat is no big deal, and if you don't see guys wearing hats in McDonald's then you and I don't live in the same USA. Sure, a real restaurant is more formal and you don't wear a baseball hat indoors if you are a gentleman.

at the press conference today Kimi was asked why he wasn't there:

"Kimi, do you want to start with that? You missed the drivers’ dinner…

KR: I don’t regret anything. I had my work to do and it goes way forward in front place rather than dinner. You have to ask the people who were there what happened. I was in Taiwan."
