Sorry Nico fans, but I just can not get my emotional side to root for Nico. But hey if he wants to leave the fastest car and go to Ferrari, good luck. Then maybe Alonso can come over to Merc and end the debate. Is Alonso a great driver or a good driver.
If he doesn't clinch the wdc this year is there going to be as much posturing? And if Ferrari still goes for him, it can only mean they are looking for a docile #2.

+1...if I'm Merc, I don't go overboard to match a high bid from Ferrari. The Merc will flatter any driver, probably even loldonado.
hmmmmmm....if that's true, he can wave goodbye to the WDC this year. Mercedes will fully back Hamilton instead, and we've all seen what happens then.
Nico isn't winning this wdc unless Hamilton gets a lot more bad luck which looks to come his way given he is on mgu-h. As soon as he sorts his bad starts nico is toast I welcome a nico move to Ferrari and alonso to merc. I suspect it will prove that Vettel is overrated and that Hamilton is faster than alonso
Already a topic. Can't see why Mercedes would possibly replace Rosberg with Alonso, Alonso and Hamilton didn't go together before, why would they now? Hamilton + Rosberg have a hugely toxic relationship, surely you won't replace it and have the exact same happen. Lol. Already gave my views regarding Kimi replacement in the other topic.
Hamilton has plenty of grid penalties coming his way sooner rather than later, and it's only 1/4 of the season so far. I don't know how many engines/gearboxes/other components he has had changed already. Nico is gonna beat Elton, whether you like it or not. And Alonso has a cooler head, as opposed to Elton who throws his tantrums. Alonso will beat him. Alonso is a lot older and much more mature than he was back then. I think Alonso/Hamilton wouldn't be any worse than Hamilton/Rosberg.
That's not saying a whole hell of a lot though! Hardly any kind of solid recommendation no matter how you slice it! Cheers, Ian
I don't agree....I think Alonso would annihilate Lewis this time. Last time Hamilton had nothing to lose, but this time, Alonso beating him would screw with his head and he'd have a meltdown.
He isn't even annihilating button... Button is very good but Hamilton is quicker. Alonso isn't known to have the qualy pace of ham so pls tell me how he expects to pass him on track in an aero dominated era of f1 Wider cars next year too and more downforce
Currently i don't see any "superfast" driver in f.1,likeMika was, KMi was likethat untill 2006,thean he lost something and now somemore (but he was so much faster than the rest than he still is on top).....Elton never was near the speed KImi had in 05 and 06,nor SEb forthat matter,and Seb is Quicker then Ham...in one lap,elton is faster than Alonso.
Over one lap Ricciardo and Hamilton are the pick of the current crop. Rosberg and Vettel would be very close. But the likes of Alonso, Button, Kimi, Verstappen.... good in a race, sure, but over one lap, they'd get spanked by the above named drivers.
