If by "stupidity" you mean DEMOCRACY, then I want to live in the most "stupid" country.

    Oh the irony!

Democracy is a noble but flawed system as it relies on too many ignorant people who do not fully understand all the implications of their actions, and it is open to manipulation by those who are prepared to lie in order to suit their own agenda.

If you were to have a Worldwide, general public vote on whether F1 should be a petrol/gas powered series or electric powered, the result of which had to be the accepted power source from the following season onwards, and one side declared: "If you vote for our power plant, we guarantee that every single race will have wheel to wheel racing, and the price of a Grand Prix ticket will only be $10 from now on", and so the majority of the public vote for it, only to find out later that they were told a complete lie, but the result stood anyway, would that be right?

So far, based on "DEMOCRACY" and the majority decision, you'd have to accept that the car you've posted a link to looks cr:censored:ap! ;)

Please steer this away from P&R, we've got enough problems in F1 without getting into political arguments too.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

    Noted! :)

(In My defence, I'll admit I was treading a fine line, but I believe I only had two wheels over the line and not all four - I did keep it on F1 and electric powered cars! :) )

While I hate for anyone to get killed. Motor racing is dangerous. I run a Kart and its dangerous.... F-1 is VERY dangerous. trying to keep the danger away is just impossible.

For F-1 to look even close to this ... is a compelling reason to just watch sports cars. Ugly does not even come close.

I MUST be officially old, because I get more joy from watching old F-1 on youtube vs. current f-1 ... and its just for the cars!

And why are they shaking it up?
Because it's a dismal failure with no-one interested or watching.

I've said it before, if you sterilize moto sports racing, people will stop watching. The danger is a huge part of the draw. Thrill seekers get that. People who think no one should ever die need to stick to watching golf.

Could be a lot better, but it's not too terrible in my eyes.

It's still a single seater, it still has an open cockpit and it's almost open wheeled, or sort of. The little rear wing probably would help to get rid of the DRS.

And even if it´s not the prettiest car of all times it looks a lot better than the current Formula E, honestly.

When will people start to understand that F1, like everything else, is constantly changing?

    F1 in 2016 is hardly as it was in 2000, in 1984, in 1972, in 1961 or 1950 !!!

So why should this evolution suddenly stop ?

Which ever way F1 goes, the cars will certainly look different in a decade or two anyway.

I've said it in another thread, but if safety is everyone's concern why the hell is the Isle of Man TT still allowed to be run, let alone motorcycle racing period?

Safety can continue to be improved without taking out the core of what F1 is.

There is an easy answer to that.

The Tourist Trophy at the Isle of Man is not part of any world championship.

The FIM, the equivalent of the FIA for motorcycle racing, took it off its calendar years ago.

The TT is now a national race held under the authority of the Auto Cycle Union.

There is no legislation that can ban a race (ie the Macau GP, etc...) even if it's dangerous and provokes many casualties.

This is not just about safety, castrating the sport, yadda, yadda, yadda. I find this concept interesting in many other aspects. The open wheels are an anachronism, teams spend piles of cash adding winglets and other crap to their front wings in an effort of minimizing the mess that the open wheels do to the aero of the car. Also the covered wheels make the 17 inch wheels look less hideous in a Formula car, and we all know that sooner or later that will come. All this plus the huge rear diffuser and the tiny rear wing would help to get closer racing as the air behind the car would be cleaner.
