The cynic in me suspects Nico has been a chummy teammate on and off the track lately to benefit his negotiations. Hope it continues this way though, should hopefully lead to less bickering around here too.

 

It's also the thing Mafiosi do to people they intend to assassinate! Nico is setting Elton up to take his title away I hope!

 

Does anyone liken this rivalry to the Hunt Lauda days? You have a playboy jet-setter and a buckled down racer.

Good for the team but somewhat telling about their lives.....2 guys that have known each other most of their lives/about same age/on the same team/live in the same building, and notably recently had a casual half hour conversation.

 

No. Hunt and Lauda were actually friends. The rivalry wasn't as dramatic as the movies show (it was a good movie)

Plus that era respected each other in every aspect. They were soldiers, not just drivers. They knew they had a real chance of dying.

 

Don't worry all this luvvy duvvy stuff will go straight out the window in Austria.

Dear oh dear, do you work for the national enquirer or something? What Nico did was to have brake failure, miss a braking point, and tap eltons car, far less dangerous than the bonehead moves of your hero on a regular basis.

Brake failure because he was driving over the car's and it appears his limits to. MV got second because he looked after his tires. Anyway it's entertainment; much better with Ted Kravitz and Sky F1 than what the Americans are stuck with on NBC...

 

I don't think there will ever be peace between Hamilton and Rosberg as long as they drive for Mercedes.
They both know they have a winning car, and they want to capitalise on that.
They are both fast and ambitious and both want to be WDC.
It's a destructive combination.
