This is what Hamilton does not get. Sure he's a gifted driver. however he is also earning Millions doing what hundreds of millions want to do.. and he cant even play along? do your job, be a professional, and do the work of being an F-1 driver.

show your personality on your own time... To me its disrespectful of the fans - who fund the sport... and to the company paying you ... he is spoilt and needs to be taken to the wood shed by Bernie... Toto and or Niki...

Maturity of a six year old kid. Heck, even Kimi who, as we all know, positively loves P.R, does attend and makes that effort...

AMuS reported his messed up starts recently are attributed to his state of mind/lack of focus.

Hamilton being confronted with himself will only contribute to that. I expect him to crumble further as the season comes to an end. He needs the winter break to think about some stuff.

Yep, he needs to do some soul-searching (well, I don't know what he will find there, though...). After all, your first adversary on track is your team-mate, and it looks that this year he now has got rather good chances to be beaten for the title in the end...

Hammy is just upset because this year Mercedes have alowed Nico to spank him..you know, it's not his fault, rather teh way he was used to win...with rigged races, help from the marshalls, tied up team mates....must be cause he's black!!

Ps: could also be because he's number one fan was banned from f-chat!!

In fact, we all should be upset here, because Andrew deprieved us of the possibility to have said to that number one fan that we now had the proof that L.H is definitively not a GOAT...

I don't think we where deprived, because we know EXACTLY what would be said:

    -He's communicating with his fans
    -His fans aren't old farts
    -Kimi sucks
-Vettel sucks, because he's EVEN BEING BEATEN BY KIMI WHO SUUUUCKS!!!!
    -Vettel is worse than Hamilton
    -Everyone is worse than Hamilton
    -Rosberg is terrible
-Rosberg is a very good driver
    -Hamilton is the best

And in a months time, IF Rosberg wins the title ''Rosberg only won because Hamilton's car sucked'' and ''They switched mechanics so it's cheating'' (ignoring that they used to be Rosbergs mechanics...)

Pick and mix. But all would be said on any given weekend.

Sorry guys, this is a complete non-story insofar as to whether Hamilton will attend or not. Bas chose to state in his subject line "FIA orders Hamilton..." - that's the routine. From that linked article -

The FIA has always required drivers to attend their mandatory Thurs, Fri, post-Qualifying, or post-race press conferences, when their names are called or if they've finished in the top three Q or race... it's a contractual obligation that comes with participating in the F1 series, and no drivers ever refuse... on occasion a driver has been late to arrive, or has missed a Thursday session due to travel problems, but they do get fined by the FIA for those absences.

Hamilton being requested to attend this week on Thursday is no different than last week or 30% of the prior Thursday conferences. It was the Mercedes press conferences that he said he was going to refuse, not the FIA conferences.

Or did you mean what would he do at the FIA press conference? OK, that could be interesting, if he is still pouting. I would bet that there have been words at Mercedes behind closed doors and he will give monosyllabic, terse, responses.

You are misreading. FIA has ordered him to appear in body AND mind. The latter is the challenge under discussion.

    Yep.

"You can take a horse to the water, but you cannot force it to drink".

We will see how Hamilton behaves in future at these press conferences he is forced to attend. That could be quite an anti-climax.

    Watch this space...

You seem to miss him or why do you put that much efforts in thinking what he would have said...All the time people complained that he posts and now they sort of miss him because there is nobody to sting???
So he is getting his attention, even when he is gone...

    Indeed.
You could watch the press conference for the first race and saved all that time because the rest of the season's were the same except for "insert name of track here".

Does anyone actually watch these ?

I don't remember "press conference" in Clark's days.

Bernie hadn't imposed it's dictatorship yet at that time.
