    That would make the new times faster than the track's lap record. Nico's pole position time was 1:24.681 in 2015 and the lap record was set by Kimi in 2008 at 1:21.670.

    Edit: The current course is 28 meters longer than the 2006 and prior races, but the 2004 fastest lap was set by Michael at 1:15.022. At least they're getting closer...

    I wonder what the lap times would be today if the rules and regulations had remained the same as 2004.
