Let's start a thread where you give your Ferrari F1 GP wins prognosis for this season.
I need to see them win a race and early before I will get too enthusiastic. The signs are very positive this year.
We (this forum) are a funny bunch of people...last year when Allison left the tenor was that Ferrari is screwed for the years to come and now just a few months and a not too shabby winter test later we already dream of winning against Mercedes and Red Bull on a more or less regular basis (as 7 wins sound like that to me)
You tell me - it's a good question. I know he had some, but not sure how to quantify it. He left in July of 2016 correct? They were discussing rule changes in Feb, but not finalized until what - April? May? Certainly he had an impact, but how much is hard to say I would think.
Hopefully not too much! If we look back to the 2000 - 2004 years, Ferrari had the best there was, in any way whatsoever. Todt, Brawn, Schumacher and Rory Byrne at the design/development desk. I don't see anybody of that level in today's Gestione Sportiva.... Well, I may be wrong about Ir.Rory Byrne..... Let's hope... http://www.autosport.com/premium/feature/7264/can-rory-byrne-fix-ferrari-problems
If Rory has done all the work then the other teams can forget about turning up !! Ferrari to win ALL the races, Byne is the best, he proved that when he took over from that idiot Barnard who just took all the money and produced nothing but flappy paddles and a s**t car. I've posted up the numbers before about Rory Vs Newey and he is the winner head to head
I'm not sure how much his impact was, I doubt very much to be very honest (which is why I was so skeptical about this year before testing...anyone searching my posts knows I completely wrote them off already ). Allison's wife sadly departed after the first GP, James obviously had a grieving period. I know that when he eventually went back to work again, he heavily commuted between Italy & UK; at most he spend 4 days working and that's included being at the races as well. Very understandable and I do not blame him whatsoever. I've no real idea yet how Ferrari have done so well. My guess is they did get Byrne heavier involved, but on the quiet. I'm sure he was sensitive to James' situation, presumably has met with Vettel and recognizes Schumachers work ethic in him.
And now Allison is at MB! I predict 3. And a Quadrifoglio Verde for me in 2 years! Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
What i would really like to see is a decent number of Ferrari 1-2s and all red front rows. Once (if) we start to see that, then we really are back.
