Most important Ferrari each year deserves it's own picture thread. Will be interesting to see how it changes over the season. The second pic showing the underside of the nose is great. I've never seen that aspect. Good thread idea!
Great pics! I thought the front wings were complex but then that detail shot of the rear diffuser and its enormous number of winglets and vanes is just amazing!
Ferrari have really stepped up their game to try and compete with Mercedes this year. A true complete package.
Yep agree. I think it's one of the better looking cars on the grid. I believe it's the only car that's actually shorter than their 2016 car, everyone else went longer...Mercedes especially looks like a limo almost! Funny fact I heard: in the 90's Ferrari's V12 cars where around 2.5 meter wheel base...Mercedes is a massive 3.7 (!). Yes massive fuel tank in it now but still...I've never met a 1.2 meter long fuel tank! .
It's fun to look at pictures but none of us can actually judge anything we're looking at in them. It's a complete package if it wins the championship, and that's anything but certain at this point.
You do realise these close up photos will help their opposition! Should we really post them?, considering those who took them were in a priviledged position of trust ... I assume. Pete
Pete, assuming your aren't being facetious, these are publicly available photos taken by freelance photographers for publications like Motorsport and the same is available of other cars. The teams likely have their own competitive intelligence photographers taking even better shots.
Oh. BTW I was being serious and assumed you had special privilege into the pits and had taken the photos. Apologies. I'll shut up and enjoy the photos then Pete
BTW, I think the FIA should have mandated smaller wings, whilst upping the tire sizes (as they have done). This would have shifted cornering capability to mechanical grip and away from aero. This would result in fewer runaways when a car manages to get out front into clean air, and allow for more passing. But, what do I know? I'm just a fan, and not a very serious one.
This car looks as if it has more room to develope than Mercedes which looks almost tapped out with aero goodies. SF70H has a lot of room to grow, and this is coming from a Mercedes fan so it pains me to admit it haha.
