Not a surprise. For a few years, he has been under investigation in India, regarding business deals, tax arrears, etc... Same for his associate who owns SAHARA, apparently. The team Force India may change hands before long.
It doesn't look good for the future of the team. It's a pity, because they finished in front of Williams last year, and Perez-Ocon aren't a bad pairing, IMO.
Yep also worried for the team. Solid performers per $ spend. Surely ranking among the best. I wonder what the protocol is here, would be a great shame to see this team go, pretty rich heritage considering (started as Jordan of course).
If i can snag it the whole of F chat F1 will be on board! Even toil http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/india/12189864/Indian-drinks-tycoon-Vijay-Mallya-flees-to-Britain-with-nearly-1bn-in-unpaid-loans.html
I think the team is "self funding" from FIA / F-1 prize money and travel money and sponsor deals. Mallya has always seemed slimy to me. all I've read about him is his shady deals... but I do like Kingfisher beer!
IF it's true that he has liabilities of £900 mio then they will be looking at what assets they can sell to pay off these debts. What for example would Force India be worth? I don't think it would make a very bit dent in what the liabilities are. Kingfisher Beer + Curry = V nice!

Any account that I've ever read has always made him out to be a great guy to be around. To bad that he had the dodgey business dealings to diminish that. Was it just the airline that went bad or is he in trouble for a bunch of other things as well?
