I realize that there have been several threads on this topic already but most of them are model specific. I am curious what the highest mileage is that any Ferrari has seen. I am thinking of making a go at it.

This thread has a picture of a magazine article that discusses a 120,000 mile 360 Modena. It has been retired to track use.
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=205578&page=3&highlight=%22highest+mileage%22

    Here is a 160k mile 308:
    http://www.autoscout24.nl/Details.aspx?id=vbbebmfmhxrh

    Mention of several 120,000 + mile 308's here, including 1 with 300k kms = 186,000 miles
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=199961&highlight=%22highest+mileage%22

    This thread mentions a 200,000 mile 355:
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=180108&highlight=%22highest+mileage%22&page=3

    160,000 on a yellow TR:
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=170890&highlight=%22highest+mileage%22

Lots of other threads. Lots of "I heard of a guy with a really high mileage..." but no substantial claims over about 160,000 miles.

Any well documented higher mileage cars out there? What do you consider the record to be.

I am at about 42k on my 360 Spider. What do you think the cost per mile would be over the next 120k miles? Anyone care to guess?

Very interesting read through those threads. Glad to see some miles being put on these cars. They certainly deserve it.

Wow, that is a very impressive mileage with good documentation. I will look for the article. Any idea what the highest mileage is of any on the road today?

I read an article awhile back in Octane (i think) that had a gentleman in Italy that still drives his 60's vintage Ferrari daily. ( not sure of model Type). The car has over 250k. Maybe someone else had seen the article and can comment.

I've been told by various mechanics of Ferraris with 3-400k miles on them, but I don't have any documentation. I imagine in Europe there are some pretty high mileage cars, since they don't have the fixation on "garage art" like Americans do.

Personal friend has one-owner factory delivered 4-cam with ~250k on it. Maintained, never rebuilt. Bay-area shop services it. Car was on 275 anniversary tour, and at FNA tent at Pebble in last year or 2. Also have a 456 with >100k on it.

There is a Volvo with over a 1,000,000 (boring?) miles ... apparently on same engine.

I believe that a couple of years ago there was a story about Saab rewarding a customer with 1,000,000 miles on their originally owned Saab with a new one.

I also heard a rumor that Lamborghini did that but no one has taken them up on it.
    Let's see -
    1,000,000 miles = 333 oil changes x $500 = $166,500 = 1/2 MSRP
    1,000,000 miles = 66 major services x $5,000 = $330,000 = MSRP
    1,000,000 miles = 100,000 gallons of fuel or so = $450,000

Seems like a pretty good investment on their part

Fortunately increases in Lamborghini MSRPs will likely beat inflation.

I wonder what Ferrari would do if you had a car with 1 million miles.

Think that you aren't a good customer because you aren't buying a new car every year.

I'll bet that TR turns up on eBay with 34k on the odometer somewhere in Florida with the seller boasting about what a cream puff it is. :p

I should post this info for a NSX owner who said a Ferrari can never reach 250K+ mile's without a rebuild. I tried to explian to the bonehead that routine maintenance will take any car, not just a ferrari, to and past 250K mile's.

    true;

i'd rather have a high mileage car with 100k on it that was taken care of by a fanatic enthusiast than a 50k mile car that was taken care of by an old granny that never got the oil changed (or had anything else done to it, for that matter).

    Hi from France,

The French mag. is "Sport Auto".

Will try to find it out tomorrow, and make a copy for all of you.

This article was published after the very 1st owner put an ad for selling his car in that mag.

So, if it's not the highest mileage, it's, maybe, the highest made by his original owner.

The Ferrari with the highest mileage is the one for sale with the lowest mileage. Bet on it.

That was a P-1800 a salesman owned down in Texas through the 60's and well into the 70's. The motor was tore down four times at around 250K mile intervals and overhauled. Outside of the crank and rods, most of the original engine parts went into the trash can.

Mercedes 240D's hold the record as far as I know. Those cars repeatedly surpassed 1M miles without the engine ever being opened up. Ive actually driven a few 300 diesel models that showed over 700K miles on the odometer with the original motor never touched, still very tight and solid cars. Even the gas cars have covered some impressive distances, over 400K miles on many. I see no reason a Ferrari couldnt spin the odo a few times and still run well.

If you need proof of the mileage, just go to any car dealer and multiply the mileage on the speedo by 2 or 3. I guess in reality that is limited to a low percentage now days.
