The thing that strikes me and that Jalop seems to have overlooked a bit is that only "electric propulsion" is mentioned in 4 of them.

Will the f80 be electric only?

Also in other patents there are a no contact sensor for the driver's heartbeat and a spoiler with at least one of its elements moveable and controllable.

    And active suspensions.

Are you happy now? Jalopnik gave you credit for something, now you can live in peace :)

Never happy. First Jalopnik, second Broadway then the world! If you need me I'll be in the Jacuzzi next to some champagne. Deal with my agent meantime ;)

On a side note, how do you find all this stuff? Do you trawl the European Patent Registry every now and then?

Either that or I know very important people at Maranello who I can't name who tell me things that I can't say. ;)

Btw, mark my words, there will be a Ferrari with an air channel, like the f12, but that goes through the doors where an oil cooler will be placed, and exits at centre/back.

There's so much to read through those patents but what caught my eye was so much recent mentioning of electric propulsion. That's a fairly specific expression and distinguished from hybrid's. Engine as a generator only? Mind you, I might be wrong.

Nothing new here, and no purely electric vehicle. See "BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS":

The patent deals mostly with the way the battery cells are arranged and mounted. Nice for the geeks (like me who spends 10 hours a day with hybrid vehicle research), nothing groundbreaking though.

The propulsion topology in the patent is unusual as the electric machine is situated behind the transaxle gearbox, but it is clearly a parallel hybrid system.

    Edit:

The internal combustion engine is the soul of Ferrari, the soul of ANY Sports or Muscle Car.

Take away the heat, the smell, the sound, you have no car left.

It just becomes a stylish ELECTRIC Ford Pinto; just transportation.
