ctek 4.3 battery tender question...never gets to 4th stage

    the manual isn't clear about what the issue might be with a battery that doesn't get to stage 4. my battery gets to stage 3 which is bulk charging but never gets to 4. anyone know>

    Even if you keep the charger on for days?

    ok so it was connected for a few weeks. I hit recond and it didn't do anything. then I took the car out for a while and drove it. got back and reconnected the tender. same thing, it went to 3 or 4 and then wldnt go any further. I hit the recond mode again and now its all the way on 7 after about 4 hours. so now it seems to be working as it shld.

    moral of the story - cars need to be driven!

    the battery needed to be "exercised"... deeply discharged batteries need to cycle to properly accept a charge ( charged in steps )... starting and driving provided the necessary "exercise"
