Ferrari Part number #60108206 This holds the engine lid strut in place. It seems to be out of production.
You are going to have to find that at FerrParts (cali) or TRutlands..... The design only went two years, maybe three
Did you ever find one of these? If I knew what kind of tension was required I should be able to either make something up or find somewhere to make a few.
Since I dug this back up I did some looking yesterday and I couldn't find any of the Ferrari parts places that had one in stock or available. I did however locate a manufacurer that has a couple models that seem like they might work. I'm trying to buy one of each now to see if they work. If so I'll let you know.
I've got a couple samples on the way to try. If either or both fit and work well I'll sell you the one I don't need. If there are others interested I can get them the company info. Would be perfect for a group buy as the price goes down considerably with volume.
Did you try GT Car Parts in Arizona?? FerrParts has a 1978 also..... I need to send the prop rod ends to Verrell as it is a point of failure, on my systems.
Well I got the spring reels and the good news it I think it will work well. It will fit perfectly under the plastic cap. The bad news is I ordered the wrong length cable so it's not long enough to allow the rod to slide all the way over when closing. Forgot to add that in duh. I'm going to see if I can find some small cable to add to it and make it work.
Could you post some pix? I've been regularly getting requests for these but haven't had one to reproduce.
Here is the basic info on the spring reels I found. I'll update with some more pics later. Spring & Arbor Reels | Spirators | Elevator Reels | John Evans' Sons Springs http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-328/464910-early-308-deck-lid-rod-spring.html
