    I might be wrong, but I thought that once you use an ECU it gets locked the vehicle' alarm,
    /security system ... or something like that. This would mean the ECU is unusable on another car.

    But, as I said I may be mistaken.

    You are. The left unit might possibly be usable in another car if it has never been plugged in on the right bank. The right bank unit is useless. At this time I am unaware of anyone able to erase its car recognition coding.
