    It is imperative for proper Spider top operation for these elastics to be present and resilient. If your top is having issues, check that these two bands are there and not stretched out.

    I had these made to the proper size, sewn with nylon stitching and with a heavy duty black snap on the front end so that you do not have to disassemble anything on the top to install them. The rear portion has a sewn in loop that fits over the bung on the rear cross member and the front part will go around and snap closed to make the loop on the front cross member.

    I changed mine 2 years ago and they have lost a considerbale amount of their elasticity already. Maybe change them once a year with your oil change.
