    BEWARE OF SELLER 'AKKO' (Paulo Bitton), based in Cascais, Portugal.
    i wired the money, after several weeks of excuses ('the money never posted' etc.), he stopped communicating, needless to say i never saw the steering wheel... his bank is unable to reach him and can't refund the payment i made, as his account is empty.... absent a major emergency, this very much looks like fraud...

    Sorry to read about the scam, hope you have contacted Ebay, and can send them supporting documents, and get this person banned from Ebay, also.

    How did you pay him? PayPal, by any chance? There may be a way to have paypal go after the funds if so. For future reference to all f-chatters, I've learned that PayPal offered buyer protection just like eBay, IF the seller sends you an invoice for goods, according to their customer service rep. Just an FYI.

    i did a bank transfer this time, unfortunately... good point regarding the buyer protection... i didn't get an invoice unfortunately though...
    ... this is such a friendly forum full of really cool, helpful people, that i was too trusting i guess... oh well...

    I know it's a pain and possibly difficult to pursue, especially with a language barrier, but I'd look online to see if there's a way to file an online police report overseas.

    I can repeat the same story. Money is written off and this man is a fraud. And a pretty foul mouthed one at that judging from the PM he sent me. He shouldn't be free to advertise in our community.
