Most of you that have been here a long time, know this car and I have been here a long time!

So here are some pictures, of it's current condition.

It needs a paint job, currently the red paint is failing and the original color is blue.
New nose repair panel went on nicely.
Hood needs some repair, previously damaged, you might even want to replace it.

North American specification, NON CAT carb car (see photos).
Original bumpers, and all of the emissions and A/C is still on the car.

    Very complete, early example.
Available for viewing in Bastrop Texas, about 15 minutes from COTA.
Once water pump is installed it will be drivable, new clutch installed last year at Sphere in Houston, little use since then.

You can see some body damage at the LH rear wheel, but for an early steel car there is not a lot of corrosion.

Note the dual range markings on the speedo, that's a replacement, somewhere in my paperwork I have the earlier unit's info.
But for now, let's just say "unverified" and let it go at that!

Yes actually the original paint code sticker is still in place, on the engine lid.

Judging from the chips on the fender louvers and around the filler cap, it's "Azurro Metallica" the same %$^%*%^ color as my other car, #22641!!!!

What are the odds, of THAT!???

I'll get the actual Code for you next Friday, when I terrorize those Hill Country honky tonks again!!

See post above, the blue one is my other ad here.

#22641 is an much more documented, lower miles three owner car, but it has paint failure too.
And rust has gotten under the front glass....remnants of Portland Oregon, I guess..

I am telling all buyers I would rather sell the 1976, and keep the two 1977s...but they keep making crazy offers, like for all three!

I am trying to keep the yellow/black/Boxer trim #22127

It's here with me in Houston.

    I was born and raised at 127 22nd Avenue...:D
Had no idea when I first bought the car.

It has good paint too, although the chips and dents of normal usage.....there was this Peterbuilt chrome lug bolt, that ricocheted off the hood, and flew over the roof, instead of shattering the windshield in front of my face. I saw it coming, even in the dark....highway speeds..

It hit the windshield wiper arm and was deflected...thanks, Enzo!!!!
    :D :D :D

You can still count the thread pitch of the bolt, in the LH wiper arm base.
Some days, it's better to be lucky than good....

    Scary!

My brother & sister in law had a tire hit their Isuzu dead-nuts at 80mph...exploded and tire ended up in back seat missing them both. Steel belts could have cut them up..super lucky; and terrifying!

oh and free bump! Awesome project for someone!

    "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina"

Or maybe George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass"???

    I'm keeping the Ducati ST3!!!
Might buy a 748 too, once the dust settles......

Valeria hit it on the head, the other night watching the fire pit:

I saw both 308's in person, both full restoration projects, engine leaking , bad interiors, lots of rust, and of course, when you start to disassembly, the real surprises, will appear, sadly seems that cars had been a long period outdoors, an offer was made, but also seems that no titles...

Oh boy ! this are for someone, that has all the time in the world and willing to put lot of $$$$$ , not for the faint of heart...

beside that you will need to spend $$$$$$ and lot of patience, both are not a great color combo.

I know, all cars has their fans, but blue is not as majestic as a red car !

On the bright side, the Specialist in charge to change the pump on the red car, to make it run, is a super nice guy, and he really knows Ferraris, son if you need a great guy, to work in your car in the Austin area, he is the one !

Thanks for the impartial review, I guess.

Let me clarify one point, the cars do not have current TEXAS titles.
They do of course have titles, and are lien free.
I bought them both cash...maybe I should make that a requirement, on this sale?

I have owned and insured these cars in Texas, for years.

My #22127 has a Texas title, if that's important.
But it is not for sale!!
    :D :D :D

    Wow.

I strongly disagree on several points, you would do a full tear down of a less 40K miles engine, that runs and idles smoothly?
    I don't think so....

A "bad" interior is a complete, original Ferrari, with a tear in the driver's seat cushion??

The red car was "running" at freeway speeds in Houston when the water pump failed.
There is no "making it run".????? WTF????.the air box is off, to paint it, the carbs are fine (and CLEAN now)..

I also have an invoice, for almost $5K where this car was stored INDOORS at Sphere Motorcars in Houston for almost all of 2013, after the new clutch, plate and flyweel were installed.

You have also posted into the wrong thread regarding the rust, #20405 was stored for 30 years, by Jerry Fisher in the Chicago winters, and there is NO rust damage to this car

The more I read into this comment, I am aggravated....good luck in your search for your car, whatever color you "dream" it to be.
You can clearly see the colors of THESE cars in the pictures, I feel you wasted your gas, driving out to see them.

I will provide a current, lien free Texas title, to the successful buyer, I think that would be the way forward...

I am targeting May 1, 2014 for the transaction, but truthfully I think this red car has a buyer.

One additional point: Pretty much all 308s leak oil. My engine was rebuilt and it leaks oil...anyone that is familiar with the design of the pans/studs knows why...

Sorry guys, for all that (but I guess discussion and fact checking is good???)

I repeat, these cars are sold "AS IS, WHERE IS"....and I am putting a sign on the gate:

I have NO idea what he is talking about, truthfully, but THANKS!!!

My apartment will tow a car immediately, that leaks anything (it's a high brow place!) ....

They WERE giving me a hard time, about the lack of license plates!!
    :D :D :D

So, I had to move these two.....

"Is RACE CAR, we no need, the license plates!!!"

Isn't there a tag on there????
It doesn't go with the sale!!
    :D :D :D

My deepest apology, Big, not trying to offend you personally, have had many 308's in the past, and only a couple of them leaked a tiny bit.

GTB's are "the best pieces" in my opinion.

You have a couple of examples, that with love time and $$$ can return to his glorious days !

Wish you the best with your sale, and what is important, is that the real buyer, make a full inspection, and like what is going to buy.

    Best Regards.

    No, not at all.....

It's good, that you commented on all the faults.

Just wanted to clarify a few points as I felt the thing about the Titles was a very serious thing, indeed. It could imply some trickery or potential legal exposure to any prospective buyer, when in fact the cars are free and clear and I have already stated to any purchaser I will handle that "from my side"..no devaluation in the value of the machine itself.

You have oil in there, and NONE comes out?
A very special old Ferrari, indeed!

    Cheers.

Your post was perhaps a fair survey of condition but putting the exact same comments in both threads I felt was potentially confusing. All discussion is good!

Hope to se you in Austin and especially at a COTA race!
