Selling 75 308 GT4 series 1 with optional factory rear shelf.
Just reapiared exhaust on weekend and was taking it out and I'm pretty sure a valve broke or dropped. I immediately stopped car and towed home.
Complete car and everything electrical works.....windows go up and down fast....all lighty switches in great shape. Leather is all original and can be redyed. Door panels are untouched. Glove box cover has cracks it so needs recover. glass all in great shape. Body is perfect.....straight......rocker panels.....all metal....door great.
Tranny shifted perfect, even i second gear and didn't eve have to wait to warm up....shifts up and down with o problem.
Comes with tool kit, jack, owners manual and the spare tire has the original tire with the nibs on it......never used....eve has the bulb and fuse kit with spark plug.
I don't have the financial or time at the moment as too much going on in my life and some F-chatters already know. This is a very good car that should find a good home. 43k on the speedo.
Oh the power antenna wants to go up and down...switch works as you can hear it attempting too but needs repair.
Best offer takes her and if I don't seem that I'm getting fair offers then I will just hold o to it until I can repair.

I'd like to see the back shelf, also. A rare and unique option IMO.

There's some folks here (Houston TX) that are watching...update us on your offers...

    What will it take??

If this was in the US, I'd be tempted to make an offer. Importing scares me, but this looks like a great opportunity for someone.

Sorry for your trouble. I would get / borrow or rent a bore-scope and determine what the damage is. A major rebuild (dead pistons) versus a valve job and gaskets can differ by $15k or so. I love the color. I had a blu scuro Qv GTB for awhile. Good luck to you.

All plugs come out except #5 so would say valve dropped or broke.

You do realize this is turning into a crap shoot in terms of offering a reasonable price. Right now, I'd be at $15K US and still not sure if I could cover a replacement engine, etc. Does the car have US equipment? US emissions sticker in the engine compartment? I do like this car, but this price thing is like gambling. Do you feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?

I have a USB boroscope with LEDs you can borrow - it should fit down the plug hole, providing you can get #5 out.

    I'm in Etobicoke.

After calling around places to get my GT4 engine rebuilt the lowest price I received was $15k for the rebuild assuming no unusual issues. Most said $20k. Sobering stuff.

I know it's #5 and spark plug must be damaged as can't get out. I have a scope so thanks for the offer. Pretty sure valve face broke off ad caused this so lucky I shut down as others are OK.

I paid $15K for my running gt4 when it needed a full service... Reputable shop is $19K for a running engine rebuild. By the time you get through NDT inspecting or replacing all of the potentially damaged moving pieces you are going to have $25K in the engine. Are gt4s worth $40K now?
I'd go $10K as it sits...

For the year(s) in question it was a North American delivery specification. My #22127 started in Canada, the same as a US delivered example. As I understand it, 1975 is also the "sweet spot" for California smog check exemption?

    $18K broken, $32K running....ball park.

The GT4s are gathering fans, even as the GTB is rising.

TRutlands exchange with core was $12K for a long time.

IF there are no significant chunks off the piston (most likely a few dents) then it really might only need a valve job, with new stainless valves instead of the sodium, which it sounds like is the failure.

The bottom end is not effected.

I interested in the car and could offer more than mentioned above. I would like to talk a bit further in you get serious about selling. I can not PM for some reason. I also would be curious to know if all the belts are OK after your incident?
