I have decided to offer my 550 Straman Spyder for sale. It has 7,350 miles and is offered for $165K. Which is almost surely going to be a great deal for the right party. As I was when I purchased her eight years ago and saw the odometer click over 2,000 miles on my delivery drive through central Florida's open roads. Oh what an experience she can offer.

Cars altered in period are now being admitted to some shows. Notably this year's Cavallino Classic, which many really appreciated, myself included. And this is good for the future of this car. She will certainly be well received by most show goers, as she always draws many admirers and well wishers in public. With some going as far as to say that it is the car that Ferrari should have built. And many expressing outright astonishment that this is not a factory car.

Always adult owned. Never abused. No crashes. Pictures to follow shortly.

wow! why didn't the factory make this car! top up pics please!

With 550B's now going in the "upper $200k range" (I'm told) this is an interesting buy.

When are people going to realize that prices printed in a monthly (magazine or otherwise) are not a true indicator of any market???

It seems that folks just want to hold on to the lowest number they can find and will actually try to negotiate from that standpoint. Don't get me wrong I'd love a 275 GTB/4 for $600 or an F40 for $500K but it's just not happening.

Oh, and second on the top up pics, looks like a great car.

Yeah, the FML as "bible" is simply silly. Do folks think they have some sort of magic esp powers? For CS the best (only?) source for current pricing is stokpro. For other cars, it's hard to get any data, let alone authoritative. Anyways...sorry OP about the thread drift.

Back on topic...your car is awesome! Much want by many of us here I'm sure.

Stan, just a word of advice for what it's worth. You really should take some photos with the roof up. The terrible top on the Barchetta is the worst looking aspect of that car - highlighting how your Straman convertible looks better (and is more practical) both top down and top up can only help you with the sale.

Good luck with it! Beautiful car

Not to speak for the owner, but all 550s are a standard 6 speed stick shift.

That is correct, to my knowledge the F1 was not available until the 575.

I saw Stan's 550 SS in person back in 2009 (when it was in Maryland).
    It is a stunning car.

I wish I had the room for another 550 in my garage!

    Good luck with the sale.

BTW, any idea how many 550s were converted into Spyders by Straman?
There can't be very many of them.

I'd buy a poster of that car to put on my wall.

But I'd rather own and drive it. :)

This looks like a Ferrari California and I imagine it.

From what I remember isn't that a ton better looking than the 550 Barchetta? Taken for granted that cut cars are less pricy IE Daytona...

Curious manual or power top ?
That is one of those no I don't want it ..... But I seriously need it.
I think it looks even better than the 575 SA I saw with the top down last month.

    Hi Tomy.

Sorry. I just saw your post. The top is operated electrically with a center console mounted rocker switch. However, like older American convertibles, there are two clasps mounted above the front windshield that are to be manually operated at the appropriate time.

They are the traditional cam or latch lock type. It really provides for an easy, though not necessarily effortless process.

I've thought about modifying this car further. Canabalizing either a Mercedes SL or Audi operating system. But I don't think it is in the cards. The current system is quite good. Though obviously not up to modern factory standards for such cars.

She's really a great boulevarder. But she's also awesome on the open roads. ;)
