Oh, I wanted to see the price (no I'm not a buyer), just curious. Now I always have to look at the prices on old 911's too. It's just a form of entertainment for me.

Which corner of the car did you say you wanted to buy?

For a clean, original car that runs and drives well, it should be North of $350K.

Just remember to add the cost of a complete restoration to your offer.
If the car looks like this it probably has had ZERO maintenance for the last 20 years.

Not true, mechanically it's a great car. I replaced the headgaskets and clutch about 100 miles ago. The owner's logic was to have it a top car mechanically, but not disturb the cosmetics, because of originality.

Did you happen to replace the exhaust valves while the heads were off?

Very sound! Solid original cars can be more attractive than restored cars to collectors... they are only original once.

Looks like it just needs the carpets "fresehened up" and maybe a good detail inside and out. Nice color.

    Gary,

Is the car completely. Resorted and factory original other than basic mechanical stuff done to make/keep it usable and safe?

For what is worth, I think these photo's aren't the best, but it seems we are looking at a VERY early GTS that hasn't been jacked around with.....

    I'm glad to hear that.
But I don't know how anyone could derive any pleasure in looking at that car. The paint looks like lizard skin and the carpet makes me gag.

I think Gary needs a new cellphone, the modern ones have pretty good cameras
    :)

Doing the math and assuming the Dino has 4 corners ... 4 x $100k = $400k and while I'm not saying that is the asking price because I haven't asked, but if it is close to that then the price looks like a bargain compared to Dino prices last month in Monterey:

We did not do a valve job, as compression was fine, but the old headgaskets were leaking oil in the usual spots, a little coolant as well.

That is a nice color -- very classic and rich looking. I would be tempted to buff it out and clean it up, but with all the chrome bits it should look great.

I would change out the carpets, though.
