Agree. That is a beautiful car. Probably no shields on it to keep the color combo pure white with black trim. The shield add the patch of yellow color to the side of the car that works well with standard yellow center caps on the wheels. This car went with the carbon fiber black center caps so the only yellow would have been the shields. Also noticed the default headliner and the carpeted rear shelf area back wall. Not a big deal - easy to change those to leather if that is what the new owner wanted. Those exterior carbon fiber pieces were pricey options as I remember back in 2011. Especially that rear diffuser. That's a LOT of beautiful carbon fiber on that car. Probably at least $25k of carbon fiber options in the interior and another $25k or so for the exterior and engine bay bits. GLWS. A real beauty. .
Thank you! I agree with you completely about the shields. I was waiting to see how long until someone noticed it, haha. Maybe if you took it in a plane
Beautifully, tastefully spec'd.... ....As noted above, tastefully spec'd. The street cars almost always do look better without ricer garishness to remind everyone to "Look at the Ferrari.......and all those Ferrari reminders all over the car". This one just confirms it further. The ricer-ific Giallo Guido (search it, but avert your eyes) confirms it further, and thankfully, this is at the other end of the spectrum. At least no-one is lamenting the lack of blue neon in the fender wells..........yet.
Wow some of you guys are really hung up on shields, lol, looks cleaner without them. Would love to trade my scud for it but its to much for me right now. I cant see it sitting too long even though it doesnt have shields, lol
I don't understand the obsession with shields either. I prefer no shields too...(although my 360 has them). Beautiful car and GLWS.
Yes, it's all about the cost of the affront to design and taste. LOL. To borrow from Jeremy Clarkson's vernacular: Some say - A tragedy occurred with the lost opportunity to add the balance of the world's Cavallinos with each unadorned patch of visible yellow....... And that the acreage protected by the number of shields in teh interior alone could have stopped the IRA in its tracks...... All we know is, it's the GIALLO GUIDO!!!! http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/boxers-tr-m/155587-behold-king-boxers-gialloguido.html (seriously, don't take a sip of anything just prior to clicking this) It's certainly not the color, though some here apparently would complain that it's just so......plain. This 458 is just about perfect, except for no manual transmission (not offered), and all of the computers (too appliance-like and sanitized). I'd swap some of the black interior for some medium grey, though.
Thanks for all the comments but we sold this car on Saturday! Took me a few days to updated this thread!
It's amazing how fast dealers seem to sell these cars. But when a private seller tries to sell it, usually doesn't sell for months, or sometimes never at all. Eventually leading the seller to trade it in. Very few cash buyers for these cars.
There is so much that goes into selling a car..... A private party is almost limited to a just cash buyer with no trade which becomes very difficult
You made a comment very few cash buyers for these cars. Are you saying the dealers are financing these cars and that's why they are selling?
