Im looking for a low mileage 430 Coupe with a Manual gearbox.
Good luck man. I saw one once near where I live, but haven't seen it in years. It's a shame how few F430s were sold with three pedals.
^^^ and especially Berlinettas ...they made more spiders in 3 pedals but over all still very very few. A lot of ads will say "Manual" or 6 speed" and the pics will indicate the car has an F1 gearbox. Dealers are trying to maybe bait buyers, or maybe they don't know the difference who knows...ether way don't believe it's a 3 pedal until you see the pictures of the actual gated shifter standing proudly in the middle of the cabin!
yeah, I see too many cars that are listed as manuals and have an automatic gearbox, dont know why they do it. If I'm looking for a manual it's not like I'll click on BUY IT without even checking the car out.
^^^ Happens all the time guys, more often then not you will see a car that you love listed as a manual and then the pictures show the F1 paddles, ads like this are all over the F430 market. I was originally looking at a 458 or Scud and the only reason I waited and looked so long and hard at an F430 after all was for the Manual gearbox, it's the last of an era, it's the pure joy of "clinking" thru the gears while driving...if I wanted F1 I would have just stuck with my original plan of a 458 or scud. I plan to add one of those or a CS or something with a DCT/paddle shift in the future, but at that point I will have no choice, with the F430 it represented just that...the last time I'd have a choice.
Sunir - love the tag you got on the 430! Saw your 430 in person recently at Competition. We will have to meet up some time in Maryland with the 6spd's. I will PM you when the weather gets a little nicer.
^^^ Sounds good buddy...post a pic of yours I've probably seen it at Competizione also Small world! ...and thanks for the compliment on the license plate...I STILL can't believe I got that 'FERRARI' Script on the one year yellow Vintage 1910 tags!
Seriously maybe check with Ferrari of Houston, we have at least one local owner here that buys that specification, and he trades them in when they get dirty... Well, not quite THAT often, but they can find you one!! HTH
I've got an '05 true manual with 27,000 miles on it and have been toying with the idea of letting it go. Or should I hang onto it for another 50 years and sell it for 7 or 8 figures?
Post some specs and someone here will probably make an offer. Then you can make a better informed decision. Even if you did decide to let it go, if the price wasn't right, you'd be better off keeping it. If its 7 to 8 figures in 50 years, more than likely it'll be because of inflation and all Ferraris will be 7-8 figures. I'm pretty sure the 3 pedals will always command a premium over the F1 (just due to scarcity). But I doubt they'll hit collector status so they won't appreciate. Just my opinion.
I think of all the F430s the manual trans will have the best chance of reaching collector status of the 360s/F430s, simply due to historical significance and finality of the 3 pedal gearbox, beyond just it's rarity and extremely low build numbers, especially in Berlinetta form which was the lowest number produced. Ferraris are strange like that, I've never seen rare factory options and build specs have quite so much of a bearing on valuation in any other marque along with build number, condition, and provenance (i.e. finality of type of transmission).
Actually, I was joking about the 7-8 figures, not to mention that I don't expect to be here in 50 years!
I thought you were pulling a Benjamin Button and in 50 years you'd loose your driver's license and turn into a toddler but still have your Ferrari albeit harder to reach the pedals!
2006 Ferrari 430 for sale in Tampa, FL at Bayshore Automotive - RITEDRIVE? Not a coupe buts its a great buy
^^^ that's sweet Billy! I thought you had a black 55o Marenello I saw there because on another thread (Where do you go wash your car - in the Mid Atlantic forum) you had a couple of pics of the black 550 Marenello getting detailed. Both look fantastic
