OK, after 4+ years, I have decided to sell my '77 308 GTB. Originally a black/black car, a previous owner changed it to black with red seats and door panels. Car is a solid driver but not show quality. Asking $75,000 but willing to listen to serious offers.

    Details:
    US spec car. 48,5xx miles

Belts serviced at 40,500 by Scuderia Rampante of Denver summer of 2010 before I bought the car. I am willing to do belts before car is sold if desired (but I do all my own maintenance).

    Replaced all fuel hoses
    Replaced heater hoses
    Replaced flexible coolant hoses
    Radiator fan motors rebuilt
Carburetors rejetted for sea level and synchronized
New plugs and Hemi plug wires (no extenders)
    Clutch cable replaced
    Transmission serviced
Fuseboxes replaced with Birdman's that use modern AGC fuses.
Hill Engineering 1" steering wheel spacer installed
Hill Engineering Slick Shift gate installed
    New tires (Sumitomo HTR-II 205/70HR14)
    Spare wheel obtained
    All wheels refinished
    New battery
    Battery tender installed
"Euro" airbox modification (noise baffling removed for more airflow)
Front bumper pushed in approximately 2" using new struts
New brake pads and brakes flushed
    Rebuilt front calipers
Correct center console with glovebox installed
New stainless steel flexible brake lines
    K&N air filter
New flywheel, clutch, and gear drive starter
Oil changed at this spring with Mobil 1 15W50 and Baldwin B253 filter.
Headlight diode mod with warning buzzer (lights on, key off)

    Known issues

AC does not work. Needs to be serviced and filled with R12
Three very minor rust issues. Area size of pencil eraser in lower driver's door. Small rust bumps in paint in both rear quarters.

Car comes with following extra parts:

    AIR injector plugs
    Two spare AIR pumps
    Correct rear exhaust valence panel
    Original fuseboxes
    Original front bumper struts
    Stock rebuilt starter
Extra owners manual in leather portfolio
    Trouble light
    Toolkit
    Jack
    New window switches
    Used extenders

Overall, this is an excellent 308. One of the early carbed cars with quad Webers. Also has the early cams for more power. NO catalytic convertors. Starts right up and

idles right at 1000 rpm when warm. Drives great. Color combo is not your typical Ferrari and really stands out.

    Very attractive car.

Question: Driver's side mirror appears to be missing in the photos you've attached here, but is present in the Photobucket images. I don't see the mirror mentioned anywhere in your description. Is it currently intact?

Is the car a late 77? It seems to have a different diaper than the one on my former car.

Driver's side mirror broke in transit. Replaced when I got the car.

Diaper is wrong (previous owner). I have the correct rear exhaust valence but the car is missing the "letterbox slot".

    More pics in photobucket links.

Easily fixed, good you kept the correct trim!
    GLWS!

Apparently they have to take the mail slot part off to fit the later shroud.
My 1976 had the later shroud also!

What is the "letterbox slot" ?? I've never heard that term.

What's the number on this car?

Letterbox slot is a piece of sheet metal with a long slot, like a letterbox, between the exhaust cover and the bumper.

Steve, My car is #21039 and it doesn't have the rear exhaust valence. Further, the promotion material in 1977 does not show the car with a rear valence. I have no idea what number car was the first to have it, yours might be close. Your car looks really fine to me, don't get too soft on the price!

List it on e-bay with a reserve just like you have listed above and see what happens. Put the reserve over you current asking and if bidding gets close, drop the reserve.

This is one of the most desirable model of the US 308s with a nice color combo. His price is very reasonable and if I was him it would be FIRM.

A 77 308 GTB is a beautiful and desirable car. The last of the weber carbed cars, clean in design. Acquire one now as in the next few years the price will more than likely double. Reference what's happened with 911 prices.

FLORIDAsnakeEyes: please see the sticky thread in this section for the rules on posting in classified adverts:

If you wanted to discuss the market itself, then there are threads in the Ferrari General Discussion or the model specific areas that you might enjoy.

Everyone else: please use the /!\ button on the upper right corner of problematic posts to alert the mod team via email. Responding to a problematic post or requesting removal by making a post in the thread doesn't actually alert us to the problem and only creates more work for when we do eventually find it.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

This is a beautiful looking car- I would like to ask you some more questions about it but I don't have enough posts to DM you (long time lurker-first time poster)- if you wouldn't mind, could you send me an email at [email protected] and we could discuss some of the details of your car?

    Thanks!
