Valvoline Synthetic 50w20. Filter Baldwin B234 Air Filter has been replaced twice since I bought the car (only 8000 miles) I have a partially complete tool kit and all the original owner’s manuals/papers and 2-sets of new keys. My goal has been to improve the mechanicals first then get to the cosmetics. My list of “to do” items is as follows (in order) R&R the suspension (it’s all original). R&R the interior (new carpets) – the carpet is in good shape but 35+ years old now. Paint - There are some rust bubbles behind the front driver side wheels and low on the passenger door. The passenger side door has a scrape on the side that has been painted over (it’s hard to see but when you get close you can see it). The paint is checking in a few places. From 10-feet it looks good but on close inspection you can really see the age of the old lacquer finish. Mechanically the car is in good condition and pulls strong to 7,700. Still has the thermo muffler but the car sounds good at speed and you can hear the carbs sucking air when you get above 5000rpm. I had a PPI done before I bought it and the compression was good but I don’t recall the numbers. I have all the original parts off the car including the points, AC Compressor & Clutch, AC Condenser coil, fans, air pumps, center console vinyl, fuse blocks, etc. It’s all been stored inside since removed. Forgot to add, I have all the original books, two sets of keys, and a mostly complete set of tools the jack and an old cover that came with the (not OEM)
PPI revealed: Cyl Comp 145-160psi on all cylinders Need for new wheel bearings up front Replace water hoses Paint is poor in places (as noted above). Needs 30K service (as noted above - it's due in 2016) Buyer and I could not come to terms so car is still available.
Hi Sean, I am new to this Ferrari Chat and looking to get into a 308, GTB or GT4. Is your car still for sale? thanks
No, the car has not sold. Seems to be lots of cars (all models) sitting. Fall winter is a bad time to sell. I will likely get a 30K at a local shop, get the door rust fixed and try again next spring.
Jeez, that's a nice looking car. But I think you are right. Get the stuff done and sell in spring. Of course, you may end up having second thoughts about selling then...
