Time to sell my baby.. The wife wants a vacation home in Palm Springs... $350,000 obo Matching numbers. This car was completed in June of 1968 and was originally painted in a Marrone Colorado with a tan interior. It was sold new in Beghetto Padova Italy and its 1st owner was a 24 year model/actress Ms Giovanna Pagnan who still lives in Montebelluna Italy. I was able to reach her and she has wonderful memories of the car. Ms Pagnan in her 6 years of owning the car managed to put on 95,000 kms!!! She used the Moderna Ferrari dealership for all her service needs.. In 1973 Mrs Pagnan sold the car to its 2nd owner a Mrs Teresina Montagnani who lived in Moderna. Mrs Monteagnani sold the car to its 3rd owner in 1976 Mr Biagio Rimaudo who lived in Sicly. Mr Rimaudo didnt have the car very long and sold it that same year to the well know collector in Germay named Mr. Achibald Von Wegner. Mr Wegner was the founder of the German Ferrari Club and had owned a famous 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione that was recently sold in Monterey for a record price. Mr Wegner sold this 365 GT in the 1990's to a US dealer and is was then exported to the US. Once the car was in the US it went through a sympathetic restoration in 1999. The color was changed from Morrone Colorado (light brown) with tan interior to the black on black which it currently is now. The paint and chrome still show very nicely and were done at that time to a very high level, and the interior is still very fresh and clean with some light patina now on the seats..I had new carpets installed this year, and all the wood and intruments are in perfect contion. I just had complete rebuild done of the engine, transmission, and suspension plus much more this past year by Gran Turismo in Los Angeles. Only a few miles logged since. Spent about $60,000 this year.. The engine bay looks like a postcard now, perfect. The AC system was completely rebuilt with a modern compressor which blows very cold and is very usage on hot day. I still have the orignial compressor too..I use the AC frequantly so its very usuable and reliable.. New Ansa exhaust system also installed this year. Original Blaupunkt working radio.. I intsallled heat-mat under the carpets and on the firewall to help keep the cabin cooler. Makes a big difference when driving in traffic on warm days. Compete tool set with jack, books, work invoices for last few years, and Massini history paperwork. Before rebuilding the engine I was driving the car 3 times a week to and from work which is about an hour each way with traffic jams. It was a good running car and it never over-heated just had some smoke, so the reason for the rebuilding of the engine. I rebuilt the transmission only becaue the engine was out but there was never an issue with the tranmission. Just wanted the car to be 100%. The car has always been a very relibale.. I'm going to miss her...The wife really want this vacation house in Palm Springs...Oh well... A great oppertunity to own a rare (800 built) front engine V-12 that has been completely gone through from head to toe. Ready to show and enjoy. My jaw dropped when I saw this amazing car! If I had the disposable cash now, I would buy this immediately....I suspect it won't be on the market very long! Seeing sculptures like this here is one of the great things about Fchat!
Just curious, is Giovanna Pagnan the correct name of the actress that owned your car originally? I googled her name and couldn't find anything, but if she could afford a Ferrari in 1968 you'd think there'd be something about her!
Mike, Beautiful car! Wish I could add it to my stable, but just picked up a 599GTB. The history and quality you have applied to reconstruction, this car will not last long. GWS, Rick
Here are a few pictures of the engine and trans rebuild these past few months... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have seen this car in person (as I have a car being worked on by Gran Turismo) and it is spectacular. Interested buyers should see it in person and quickly as it will not last long
