    Located in Chicago suburbs

This 1986 328 GTS is one of the most reliable vintage Ferrari’s you can buy, period. This 328 GTS is like-new and with one owner for the entirety of the 30-year span. This car has ultra-low miles!! It has never been involved in any kind of accident and as such everything is as it was from the factory!

The paint is immaculate, the engine runs like a top, and the interior is near perfect.

Last timing belt, service etc done Nov 2013

Simple things like brakes cleaning/fluid done buy competent local sports car shops several times.

Low Miles, 11,800 (the Odometer is off on the car from a previous service issue, can be fixed)

All accessories, fans, and controls are 100% fully functional

The original A/C is great and blows cold air.

    New tires several years ago

Always garaged with moderate temperature conditions.

Always removed from service in winter, never got any road salt on it, ever.

Hardly ever got rained on in 30 years. Maybe a couple times like 2 or 3.

Covered 99.999% of it life. No fading of anything, has had very little sun exposure.

    All documentation available.

Even have the can of paint Ferrari supplied with new cars at the time.

Official price set at $118,485 asking.

    Based on online selling sites:

    Average selling price for a 1986 328 GTS = $86,753
Average miles for the same data set = 43,532 miles

This 1986 red 328 GTS has 11,800 miles and at a premium @ $1/mile brings the sale price up to $118,485 from the average online price. I've got to believe $1/mile is reasonable. Today's exotics can depreciate at $5/mile.

Either case, if someone wants a one-owner 328 GTS, it doesn't get better than this car and I'm sure it won't last long. I expect to sell it within this spring/summer.

Yeah, I'd think it would be tough to sell a top of the market car without pictures. My $.02.

To the OP, given the way the car is written up, are we to assume you are the original owner?

If the odo is off, how long has it been off and what would be the estimate of the number of miles it has traveled above stated miles?

I just sold my 2015 to the gentleman that owns this 1986 Ferrari. He is selling his baby of 30 years for the new technology in the 458.

Everything about this car is legitimate and Lake Forest Ferrari has always serviced the car.

I would assume people on Ferrari Chat would show more respect to each other. This is a GREAT find and this guy would never get on Ferrari chat to share it with everyone on here. He was just going to give it to the dealer to sell.

    About to ODO:

Lake forest replaced it because (as I was just told) some of the original speedometers that were put in the the early 328's (And Testarossa's) exhibited this same problem. As you were driving along it would just drop to "0" for a few seconds perhaps up to a minute and then just come back up again. I believe in the beginning I told LFSC of what was happening, but the problem persisted and became a bit more frequent. It must have taken Ferrari a while to find out they originally installed a number of problem spedos on a number of cars. I will work on getting LFSC to fix this issue. Rest assured, all service documents show the correct information.

What a great car, I wish I could add it right now. How long has the odo been off?

I think it has always been an issue from what I could tell. It's a problem that came from Ferrari, originally. As I wrote previously, the car looks so new...it's the best 328 GTS I have ever seen. Some years, the owner only drove the car a 100 miles. Him and his wife are sweet. They mostly spend their time travelling and managing their many businesses.

It wasn't your comment...it's the overall tone on this forum sometimes that really pisses me off. People on here want to nitpick and that's one reason some people say forget it and go elsewhere. This "barn find" (rare garage find) is why we all do this. I'm not making money here...I'm helping him out and letting everyone on here know about it.

The one comment I felt was stupid was the one that suggested the ODO was low for malicious reasons or from failure of the system. Actually, the ODO shows around 8,700 and if we wanted to lie about it, we wouldn't say anything at all! But, the owner knows the issue happened around mile 2,900 and that's why he knows there is 11,800 miles on the car.

" Low Miles, 11,800 (the Odometer is off ...)"

No wonder the mileage is low...

    ^^ Whatever! Get lost!

I think if you would have explained it this way in the original post people would have understood better. You just said it had 11,800 miles but the odo was off. You never explained until this post that it only showed 8,700 but you were being honest saying it really has more miles.

That makes a LOT more sense. I think that's what people were nitpicking about.

Either way, it a great looking car and seems to be a fair price for such a stunner. Hope the owner gets all he wants for it and the new owner enjoys it just as much!!

So you sold your 2015 458 to this guy recently. And now, you're helping him sell his 328? Are you brokering this deal?

I was talking to my brother-in-law about this one last night.
He's in 60's now and he was a big fan of Magnum PI back in the day.
He lives in Madison, WI and wanted to come by this weekend.
He is serious but just wants to make sure mileage is 11,800 give or take.
What do you think is the actual mileage?

Also, this isn't the same one, correct?
