    This 2000 Ferrari 550 Maranello is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition with a major service only 900 miles ago. It has been driven a total of 19,990 miles. It has a clean carfax and clear title and is for sale at $125,000.

    History;
    It was delivered new in Switzerland to a man from Chicago who imported it immediately and had the full EPA/DOT conversion performed by Amerispec. I confirmed directly with EPA/DOT that all of the correct modifications were done. The second owner was in Texas. I purchased the car as third owner from a dealer in Florida in 2007 with 10,000 miles and shipped the car to Massachusetts where it underwent a comprehensive inspection by the state to confirm that it was compliant with all US regulations. I brought the car to California 2 years ago and it was again underwent a detailed inspection by the California BAR which it again passed without issues. In summary, this is a 50 state legal car.

    Major Services;
    In addition to annual services I have had the following majors performed.
    2007/11,000 miles major service at Boston Sportscars including timing belts, tensioner bearings, filters, belts, plugs, fluids, etc. $10,000.
    2015/19,000 miles major service at Patrick Ottis including timing belts, tensioner bearings, filters, plugs, belts, fluids. Also replaced motor mounts, catalyst ecus, new tires, all interior painted surfaces and switches restored by sticky-no-more, etc. $19,000.

    Flaws;
    Mechanical - None.
    Cosmetic - Some wrinkling and shrinkage of leather on airbags. Fading of painted moldings around windows, fading of original wheel caps, very slight scratches on some wheels.

    Modifications;
    None other than clear film on front of car, tinted film on windows.

    Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. Inspections are welcome. Thank you but I am not interested in a trade.

    Thank you all, I appreciate your supportive comments. It is a beautiful car that is wonderful to drive. I am selling it with regret since I have lost storage space for 3 cars and need to "thin the herd".

    Gorgeous car! Your price is right don't change it... if it's not selling it's not because of price... the right buyer will come along... if they can afford $124 they can afford $125...

    Unless you're really wanting to dump it then don't do any price drop for at least 3 or 6 months, even if the price drop is only $1K. If buyers perceive you're not confident on your price then they'll just wait it out until you keep dropping & dropping. Of course, I've made that mistake plenty of times in past 30 years so just passing my $0.02 along.

    Then again, you've owned tons of cars (1963 Corvette SWC, 1970 Maserati Ghibli, 1972 Fiat 850 Spyder, 1992 Brabham BT60B, 1991 Brabham BT60Y, 1990 Brabham BT59, 1989 Chevron B67, !989 Shelby Can Am, 1996 Porsche 993 Turbo, 2002 911 GT2, 2008 Tesla Roadster) so you're more of an expert than most.

    Good luck!

    Can someone explain the price slide? Is it the season? these cars are better than what passes for seven series anythings out there.

    This is a euro spec car. They are always valued much less. However, I think the price is spot on, It will sell.

    Thanks for all of the supportive comments. I agree with several of you that the market is simply much softer than it was 6 months ago. I am trying to be a "realistic" though reluctant seller. The 550 is my favorite of all of the Ferraris I have been fortunate to have owned (67 330 GT, 78 308 GTS, 82 512 bbi, 85 TR, 91 TR, 95 456, 00 550). They have all been fun, beautiful and exciting but the 550 gives the best driving experience in my opinion. I would love to keep it but I have just lost a couple of storage spaces for my collection and something has to go. If I could only find the right buyer for one or two of my Formula 1 cars I would definitely keep the 550! As you can imagine, the pool of buyers for Ferraris is huge compared to the pool of buyers for vintage Formula 1 cars so those will take some time to sell. Thus, my 550 (and 03 996 GT2) is now on the market.

    Beautiful car you have there and one of my all time favourite Ferrari's, particularly with that colour combination and shifter (ie. no paddles).

    Very, very sweet ride and all with V12 symphony, GLWS.
