1983 Mondial QV Sunroof Coupe Blue on Blue 60,000 miles 10 ft original paint job (a few small scratches and chips) Mint interior Everything works Mondials are notorious for running hot. This one reaches maximum safe operating temperature in about an hour. Freshly rebuilt water pump. New thermostat. A second radiator fan would probably solve the problem, but I've got other, more pressing projects. It's time for someone else to get a great deal on this car. Thanks for looking at my ad. I am referring to page 8 of this thread http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferraris/488348-anyone-ready-pass-their-mondial-down.html
This is the original engine with matching numbers. I recently rebuilt the front head and replaced the drive pulley, tensioner, etc.
Your selling it too cheap? Should bring at least 25k in good condition unless you think the engine is about shot or needs all major service done etc.
Wow, 4 blue Mondial Coupes in the central TX area (SidTx, Cockrill, Race and yours). https://www.zeemaps.com/map?group=831366 BTW, your Blue/Blue car looks familiar. Any rust issues?
I think shulz348 was referring to this post: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144196325-post143.html So your timing belt slip did not result in needing a new engine?
I'm interested, but my concern is that something didn't go right with the previous repair. We've got a rough timeline here from sellers previous posts: Sept 2015: The only problem is that I slipped a timing belt and the engine went Boom! Sept 2016: Repaired engine is overheating. December 2016: for sale. Aaron
Given the price is apparently quite reasonable, I would imagine an independent PPI would give a good snapshot of the current state of affairs. I like this car a lot. It looks very much like the Mondial QV that was one of my first Ferrari drives.

They can but I never thought of it as strictly a Mondial issue. More like a not quite looked after car issue. That said, the previous owner of my car did install a second fan to help keep it cool in hot summer months.
Car is still in TX. Seems like a simple solution would be to ask Crall if he did the work, or either way just ask if he will do a PPI on the car. Or get a PPI form one of the other well known guys out there. $18k is a steal for this car if it's in good running order. Still a fairish price if it needs $10k in work, as long as the work is straightforward and clear and not a "mystery bag" situation.
Unless you're just looking for a parts car or can buy it for a reasonably low price, I would HIGHLY suggest seeing this one in person. 2cam
